DJ never transfered. He graduated from Clemson and as such was free to matriculate to a grad program of his choice. There are no penalties on additional graduate school movements. The only restriction is prior to earning a 4 year / 120 credit bachelors degree. He has 1 more year of eligibility.

Watched the Cal game after our game Sat night. He came in after an injury, and other than one decent drive was absolutely overwhelmed and pathetic against a 5-6 team.

Told my wife that Dante decided to "inferno" his bridges to UM and then Oregon. Funny thing is Chip Kelly is still on the hot seat on 2024, and may have saved his job with the win over USC. Chip needs to win and Dante looks like CFB's version of what Jamarcus Russell showed the NFL. Big athletic guy who sucks as a QB!

I wonder if the new coach is planning on bringing any guys with him from Oregon State... probably not Uigalelei since I doubt he would have immediate eligibility after he's already transferred once, but maybe one of the other QBs is a solid prospect?

Sounds like Leavitt is holding a grudge as Smith did not even offer him as an instate top-end QB.  (Granted Leavitt didn't rise in the ranking until late in the process, but OSU must have had plenty of time to see a local prospect's film and chose not to offer.)

Houser news comes first and RCMB noodles are all like screw him does Leavitt start from Day One? Half an hour later, the Leavitt news. Maybe the new coach brings his quarterback.

I remember when Rico Beard said Chip Kelly and Dante Moore were a package deal. That’s was shortly after they were packing Notre Dame’s coach.

Rico: “You don’t think like I do”

Yep, he bluntly says as much here:

"I'm a home town kid and [Jonathan Smith] didn't offer me," Leavitt told Spartans Illustrated. "There are some hard feelings there."

Leavitt did meet with Coach Smith today and brought up what happened in the past.

"I felt slighted by that," said Leavitt. "Why would they like me now when they didn't like me before?"

When asked if there was any chance that he might return to Michigan State, he replied, "Yeah, I'm kinda just done."

Isn’t it likely that Smith is bringing lots of better talent from OSU? These guys wouldn’t all leave for nothing would they? Plus some will probably come back like that DB did for them last year

If by lots of talent you mean 2 transfers and maybe 2 recruits, then yes. MSU is a good job in the medium to long run. It sucks the next 2 years. I imagine transfers out > transfers in from Oregon State.  The only allure is a bond with the coach and Oregon State no longer being in a P5 conference. Oregon State players can also go to other teams for the latter. I don't expect Smith to bring many with him. That doesn't mean he can't replace talent leaving elsewhere in the portal. I just wouldn't count on many coming from the Beavers.
