Today's Schedule of Games

Submitted by M-Dog on November 10th, 2018 at 8:16 AM

Ohio St. at Michigan St. at noon.  Maybe that meteorite that Harvard says is actually an alien space probe was sent to destroy Sparty stadium during this game today.  That would be a sign of intelligent life.

Also at noon, Wisconsin at Penn St.  I'm rooting for a Penn State loss for recruiting reasons.  Talk of James Franklin being back on the hot seat after he lost his unicorn OC and RB will only help our recruiting in the east.

Our game at 3:30.  At 3:40, check in on Miss. State at Alabama, Northwestern at Iowa, Oklahoma St. at Oklahoma, and Washington St. at Colorado.

At night, Clemson at Boston College is the highlighter.  This could get interesting . . .

Also, if FSU can get their heads out of their asses, they do have wickedly talented 4 / 5 star athletes that could give Notre Dame a challenge.

Thanks for posting this each week (if you’re the one who does). I’m already looking at this site first thing each morning and on Sat. mornings I can look at your thread and easily figure out what games I want to watch and what channel. Thanks!

It's kinda fun to do.  There are always some interesting games that you never really knew about.

I'll probably be out of town the Sat. after thanksgiving, so I'll have to pass the baton on to somebody else for that week.  Here's the narrative ahead of time:

12:00 The Game.  After that, MGoBlog for celebrations and 11 Warriors for schadenfreude until 1:00 AM.

The end.

The commentary is excellent this morning, M-Dog!!!  Upvote for the effort!

I'll be spending some time today doing some therapeutic things with the wife.  We had to let go of our 13 year old yorkie yesterday, which she had literally babied every day of its life, so my usual level of Saturday football will not happen.  Thank God this is Rutger weekend, and the rivalry game is later in the day, I'm hoping to get some time this afternoon in front of the TV...

Keep the open threads entertaining, I'll check in every now and then!

Interesting slate of games, I know its not likely but i find it very interesting if Alabama loses to Miss st today. I think that would make the possibility of alabama getting in with two losses slimmer and may make it so UM is really controlling their own destiny.

Alabama will not get into the playoff with two losses unless every other candidate has two losses also (except UCF — 2-loss Alabama probably gets in ahead of undefeated UCF).  The only exception I can think of is if they have two losses and win the SEC, in which case Georgia gets left out and so there’s no danger to Michigan.

So, yes, it’s perfectly reasonable to root against the Tide through the Auburn game — but if they finish the regular season 12-0, you’d really like to see them go 13-0.

We have our eyes elsewhere, but the Auburn - Georgia game is probably more significant to us than any other game today.

If Auburn beats Georgia there is no 2-SEC team scenario.  Since we have to win out no matter what, it won't matter then what anybody else does.

If ND wins out our only loss is a "good loss", better than what OU or WVU would have.  If ND loses, it's going to be to a bad team and they have no CCG to help make it up.  They would probably drop below us.

Root for every no loss team(except UCF) to win and every one loss team(besides U of M) to lose.  Simple as that.  I am hoping that the current four continue to distance themselves this weekend.  OSU gets run today.  Its gonna be cold and windy, which will play right into Moo Us strengths.

Because we fear nobody.  Running scared is for pansies...

Bama and Clemson are the standard-bearers in college football today, and you aren't the best until you beat the best and earn that title yourself.

Anyone that wants to avoid playing the best teams because they're good can GTHO.

They miss JT.  Their backs are good, but their O line is not good enough to just run them straight up.  Look for Haskins to get some designed runs to try to loosen up the Sparty front 7.  Don't think it will work that well though.

It might not matter, I don't know that Sparty's running game is good enough to take advantage of OSU's weakness against the run.  Haskins will have a better passing day than Lewerke and that should be enough.

Can't wait for OSU-MSU.

I bet Clemson beats BC by 30 making it that much more difficult for the committee to try to figure out how to convince themselves the ACC is awesome

I don’t understand why so many people want ND to lose. They beat us in a close game. The better they look, the better we look when we’re being compared to other 1-loss teams.

Odds are that NW will heave up a fur ball today vs. Iowa who is hard to beat at home.  Then, NW has to hang on and win tough games against Minn and I’ll.  Might actually give Minn and Ill a chance to be seen on a network other than BTN.  Big Ten...West!

The whole day is full of Maybe There's a Chance games, especially in the ACC/SEC, but bedlam as well.  I'm hoping a couple upset bids take hold and we get at least a handful of good endings.

Auburn/Georgia might be an interesting game. Surprised Oklahoma is playing Oklahoma State. Isn't that game supposed to be played the final college football weekend along with the rest of the rivalry games? Florida State/Notre Dame I'll flip back and forth with the Michigan basketball game. But I'm not expecting any miracle in South Bend. I say this as someone who has hated the Seminoles since childhood....fuck Notre Dame. The TV schedulers got it backwards. Michigan/Rutgers and Iowa/Northwestern should be at noon. MSU/OSU and Penn State/Wisconsin should be at 3:30. I've heard the pros and cons all week but I guess MSU gets the nod as far as rooting interest....that doesn't mean I have to be happy about rooting for Dantonio's stupid, angry-constipated face.
