Today's Schedule of Games

It's belated Rivalry Week in this chaos season (which will certainly be an ESPN 30 for 30 special some day), minus a certain "rivalry" that got cancelled due to COVID of which we shall not speak.

At noon, most of the traditional Big Ten rivalries: Illinois at Northwestern, Minnesota at Nebraska, Michigan State at Penn State, Rutgers at Maryland.  I'll flip around the dial and see which ones are competitive.

Also, an actual matchup of 2 ranked teams: Georgia at a rising Missouri.  Missouri is not rising enough to beat the Dawgs however.

In the afternoon, the highlight is Navy at Army (to be played at West Point for the first time in 77 years due to COVID).  This game is always compelling pure football for its own sake.  It is a pause in time for three hours, where your only reference is the other Army-Navy games played before it, as if it was its own slice of time in the universe.

Also in the afternoon, UNC at Miami should be a good one.  I think the Canes pull it off.  Wisconsin is at a sneaky-good Iowa that probably should have been the Big Ten West champion.  All Iowa in this one.

In the evening, USC at UCLA.  Beyond the rivalry game intrigue, USC is 4-0 people.  At what point are they going to be talking about USC in the CFP if they win out, over some of the other one-loss teams they keep talking about?  (Colorado is 4-0 too, BTW.  Keep an eye on them as well.)

Your Pac 12 After Dark Special, wacky but meaningless football just for the fun of it:  Stanford at Oregon State.

So, with Rutgers defeating Maryland and going to 3-5...that leaves both ahead of us. So we're either 6th or 7th?

How do they judge it between Michigan and MSU given they beat us & played one more game, so their winning percentage is worse (2-5 vs. 2-4).

That game will probably be cancelled due to Michigan  not getting over its COVID cases. Surprising that Harbaugh let the team go lose before and during T-Day. Michigan is a lock down state and those states like IN and IA are more open and their teams are having less problems with COVID spread.

This Wisconsin-Iowa game is ALMOST "M00N 2: Electric Boogaloo."

Of course, I guess it would be W00I, without that field goal by Iowa.

But wow. Just ugly. The punters' legs are gonna fall off.

Both offenses look completely inept, but...Wisconsin put up 49 points on us, and Iowa would likely get close to that. Which, well...kinda says it all.

If there is one college football game everyone should have on their bucket list, it’s Army-Navy. With the modern commercialization of the game and its move into becoming a cold, calculating business, this game is the last bastion of the game in its purest form.

My dad and I went to the game back in 2016, when Army won for the first time in over a decade (maybe 15 years or more?), and just seeing all the pageantry and pregame tradition was a sight to behold.

WI  has looked quite pedestrian losing again to Iowa. I can't believe WI whipped us at home. We are on bad team but we should not be given the talent. I'm afraid Harbaugh will not get us up to that next level, in fact he may not get us to that 8 win level for a few more years.

So based on today’s results, we finish ahead of MSU (2-5) in the division, but behind both Maryland and Rutgers, as well as OSU (obviously), Indiana and PSU.  2020 and all, but in what universe is that acceptable at Michigan?

Statistics in today’s Army-Navy game are 1950 Snow Bowl-level ridiculous...two completed passes and less than 300 yards of total offense COMBINED FROM BOTH TEAMS, with the majority of the scoring resulting from offensive miscues from deep within their own territory

...but what a helluva goal line stand by the Army defense.
