Tickets for Homecoming (Illinois - Oct 22)

Submitted by TXWolverine44 on

Hello all,

I have been looking for some cheap-ish or face value tickets for Illinois with not much luck. Stub hubhas been the best as far as price but really only selling in pairs and with fees it comes to $100/ticket which is too much for me (poor grad student).

I'd be driving in from Grand Rapids so i'm nervous about buying at the gate before the game (i'm an ex-band member so i want to see pregame if possible) especially since there's gonna be a lot of alums coming for homecoming. Any advice, even snarky as long as its constructive?

EDIT

Looking for 5 total tickets. Preferably 3 together and 2 together (got 2 together)

and will be there (I am coming from 3 time zones away, nice that the game is starting at 3:30 and I won't have to basically pull an all-nighter to go to the morning rehearsal). Was suprised to get the email that they had fufilled the allotment- I have been coming to MMB/Homecoming off and on for nearly two decades, and this is the first time I was even made aware there was a limit!

I am heading in with the wife for the game. Trying to get some before hand, but willing to risk it to get some outside the stadium in order to not break the bank. Figured worse comes to worse I will just hit a bar and watch with fellow UM fans. Kind of crazy to drive 3 hours, but figure it is worth a shot.

Getting 3 is always a pain. I went ahead and just bought 4 for UCF (4 x $40 each vs 3 x $65 in section 4) and then was going to try to sell the single but convinced my recently retired Dad to come with us.

"Dad you wanna go to the game?"
"Ehhh it's a 4 hour round trip and I got a bunch of stuff to do around the house"
"My God, Dad you just retired. Get your ass over here."
"Okay I'll be there at 10am Saturday morning"

equal to face value (someone mentioned $105 is their face value) at least nice sideline.  Slightly less for endzone.  Waiting it out on ticket websites for prices to drop is your best bet.

but I have two that I will sell with no fees. I will sell at face or you can make an offer and we'll see what we can do. I'll send you an email and you can reply if you still need to.

This particular huge rival is nearly as bad as the huge rival we just whipped. As much as IlliniFan hates us, they won't travel for this. The only wildcard factor in pricing close to or on game day is the weather. Good weather will keep prices from dropping early as it's Homecoming; bad weather and the bottom will fall out early.

You really don't need to pay $100/ticket for this game.

Take a risk. Tickets under $50 will be very easily had on game day.

Rain is also forecast for next Wed through Friday with temps in the 50's.

I'll have a post tomorrow. Prices are remaining kinda high. If you don't mind splitting up maybe wait till next Friday. If everyone's buying their own ticket and you'd like to get the group together target $120 apiece.

Paying Face for Illinois is cra cra. Just sit on stubhub an hour before the game and watch the prices drop. You can buy them right there and then they can scan the bar code on your phone to get in. I got front row seats in the corner of the endzone for $65 per ticket to the Colorado game and thats with the fees included.
