These quotes from Ronnie Bell point to Nico not returning

Ronnie Bell is referring to Nico as “number four” in his interview below. If Nico was practicing, he’d be referring to him as “number one” since that’s what his number would have been this year. That is reading between the lines, but amidst all the speculation, that tells me Nico is in the past:

No more so than the Gattis quote thread below. Just having fun! People take the posts on this board too seriously.

We won’t hear anything one way or another from the program or Nico until game day. If practice is closed to the media, Harbaugh will take any advantage he can get and keep Minnesota guessing whether we’ll have Nico or not.

Talking to myself now, but the "Nico Speculation" is reminding me of the Cold War. There was a time in the 40s and 50s that we had so little insight into the goings-on within the Soviet Union - because so few reliable espionage assets on the ground - that our intelligence folks would look at photos from public events to "divine" what was going on within the Politburo. Those individuals that were standing closer to Stalin were deemed to be in the "in-group," or on the rise in the party, while someone standing further away was assumed to be falling out of favor and would either be dead or in a gulag soon...

Does anyone have a recent photo of Gattis with the WR corp???

Id think I’d he was coming back we’d know at this point but maybe I’m wrong. In 29 days we’re kicking off against the most impressive physical specimen in the NCAA: Goldy Gopher.

Can’t wait!

All this “he’s coming back” and the “he’s not coming back” stuff. If he doesn’t, best of luck Nico. Thanks for all the work you poured into the team. But really, we’ve got a truly elite group of receivers to work with. He’ll be missed but I can’t help but think we are going to be just fine.
