...days until the start of the 2019 season. I hope these 235 days drag. I need a long break from this sport. Here is the 2019 schedule in case anyone is interested. We're back to having two bye weeks. I don't know how it works out that some seasons have two bye weeks while others have one. I like the timing of the first one, as it is before a tough road game. The same goes for the second bye week, as it is the week prior to MSU.

Aug. 31 -- Middle Tennessee State
Sept. 7 -- Army
Sept. 14 -- Bye Week
Sept. 21 -- at Wisconsin
Sept. 28 -- Rutgers
Oct. 5 -- Iowa* (Homecoming)
Oct. 12 -- at Illinois
Oct. 19 -- at Penn State
Oct. 26 -- Notre Dame
Nov. 2 -- at Maryland
Nov. 9 -- Bye Week
Nov. 16 -- Michigan State
Nov. 23 -- at Indiana
Nov. 30 -- Ohio State

Pretty much how I feel. Usually I hate the off season, but I'm so sick of the disappointment anymore. I'm starting to wonder what is the point of getting so worked up about a sport played by young men. A sport that has very little effect on my life. Of course, I say that now while UM is average to above average at best. I imagine if we were on Alabama's level, I'd feel a lot different.

Sports and especially football are a very "durable good". You're buying the memory. I was at Xxx when Michigan beat xXxX to clinch a B10 title. Unfortunately the durability of Michigan football memories is slowly being eaten away, because we don't win many games that matter in terms of championships or bowls. Very ?.

Seems pretty pessimistic.

Wisconsin and PSU games were blowouts last year.  No reason to think we'll automatically lose those this year even if they are away.

MSU is trash and will probably continue being trash, and is at home.

Army will likely lose.  It may be a tough game, but I'd be fairly surprised if we lost that.

10-2 again is a real possibility.

and when you use the word never, you mean twice. One being a once in a million dropped punt the other with a third string quarterback and five or six turnovers and  Michigan State still scored only 14 points. You're right they own us in  Big House

The long break between the end of one season and the beginning of another is one of football's great strengths. We're all tired right now. I'd be happy if there wasn't a single piece of news between now and the beginning of August (except for whatever replacements Harbaugh hires and a couple of more recruit signings, all news will be bad news in that time span).

So time off, without football, allows us rest. As summer drags on we can remember the good, build the anticipation, and once again look forward to football. More than half a year from now.

I think we should intentionally lose the Indiana game.  Use that week to practice for OSU and play the second string after the first quarter to rest the starters for OSU.

Maybe the football gods are not pleased with our win streak against IU?  Maybe if we lose to them we'll finally get to win The Game again.

There’s 14 weeks between Labor Day Weekend and Thanksgiving Weekend. This past year Thanksgiving was on the 22nd. The upcoming season it will be Nov 28. Hence the extra week off.
