He's a DTs guy and Osborn "helped" with the DE/EDGE guys.

This would be a home run, then you give Osborn more responsibility and money like we did Partridge before he became a full-time AC.

Sign him up!

I don’t know if we should make anything of a Twitter follow FFS I follow people I can’t stand.

that said, freaking amazing hire if that ends up happening.

He doesn’t want to be the lowest paid guy in the Aggie d-line room. Joking, but not joking. He just signed the greatest d-line class of all-time, but they were absolutely bought and paid for with NIL money.

TAMU's DL coach is Elijah Robinson.

https://12thman.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/elijah-robinson/1434

TAMU recently hire DJ Durkin to be their new DC.

Robinson is probably following other coaches on Twitter for job leads in case Durkin wants to bring in his own DL coach.

Robinson worked for Duke's new HC at TAMU.  Duke still needs a DL coach.

Temple hired a new HC recently.  Temple still needs a DL coach.

Robinson has a history with Baylor.

Shaun Nua recently Michigan left for USC.

All very logical places to look for at for a backup plan.

I remember that, too.  It was the closest call we ever had with Schembechler.  But it didn't feel right to him when he visited A&M.  He knew it was all oil money and he couldn't settle that in his belly.

WendyK is not old enough to remember such things.  She's still a child!  29, I think...  Looks like 29.  (I have no idea what she looks like...)

Why wouldn’t oil money have sat well with Bo? It was a different time, one when fossil fuels weren’t a social pariah.

If memory serves a Domino’s franchise was kicked in to sweeten the pot. Would have violated NCAA rules if it were for a player but perfectly fine for admin to accept such largesse. Goose/gander.

Cannot be true! Depth players are transferring! Players are becoming professionals! Staff are taking opportunities they prefer elsewhere! PANIC!

I’ve long lost count of how many times “just followed us on Twitter/Instagram” has turned into a giant nothingburger over the social media years.

Speaking of giant nothingburgers, do better than Gregg Henson.

You don't have to get mad at me. Yes they were 8-4. But we envy a lot about their position right now, so dig that head in the sand if you want... They're closer to a national title than we are right now and many on this board are panicking that we might not have a coach. 21 season is over. They're winning 22 do far.

Championships cannot be won without elite talent. Texas A&M will have more talent and in particular, they’ll have the amount of talent that has equated to winning.

247 has created a team talent composite that tracks and ranks the rosters each season going back to 2015. Below is the talent rankings of the National Champions and who they beat in the Championship game:

2015: Bama (1) beat Clemson (13)

2016: Clemson (9) beat Bama (1)

2017: Bama (1) beat Georgia (4)

2018: Clemson (6) beat Bama (2)

2019: LSU (5) beat Clemson (9)

2020: Bama (2) beat Ohio State (3)

2021: (1) vs (2)

As you can see, you cannot win without talent. 11 of the 14 teams that have played in the Championship game have been Top 6 in team talent. Furthermore, Clemson is the only team to even make it to the Championship game ranked outside the Top 5 and they did it with Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence - QBs who were early 1st round NFL picks and Heisman runner ups.

Texas A&M was already the 8th ranked team in the talent composite this season and they are about to finalize the greatest class ever, meaning that they will be ranked even higher next year and the years to follow. They are at a disadvantage in that the two most talented teams in the country both play in their conference, so it won’t be easy for them. But they do have the actual talent to get there and if they recruit like this another season or two then Bama and Georgia will have company.

Michigan on the other hand was ranked 15th in talent this year and I believe I read that they’re expected to be ranked around 12th at the highest for next season. Good, but not nearly at the level that has been required to actually win it. And it’s probably fair to say that the matchup vs Georgia kind of proved that. We would essentially need JJ to be better than Deshaun Watson this year to have a chance. If, however, Michigan can have another really strong season this year and improve our recruiting, then we could get there. But we’re not there yet and at the moment - A&M is closer.

Jimbo Fischer has wanted to beat Nick Saban for a long time. He has masticated on it for years. He finally pulled it off. But oh yeah, he had other games this season besides that, that he hasn't mentally been turning over and over in his head for years.

This sounds too good to be true.

Maybe he started following Michigan coaches because Michigan jumped into National prominence this year. Know your enemy and all that.

Meh, Durkin shows up in College Station and maybe connected Robinson with UM staff for his network development.

Then again, Robinson is a B1G guy and might want to joint the B1G champions …

People make far too much about who follows who on sports twitter. This guy just helped sign a fantastic DL class at A&M, and it’s extremely unlikely he’s going to bail now. Fisher isn’t stupid—he knows how important recruiting is and isn’t going to let his new DC chase Robinson away.

Fantasizing about getting Robinson to A2 based SOLELY on a twitter follow is mental masturbation of a particularly laughable sort. The OP and thread make MGoBlog look gullible and stupid.
