Couldn't help but sense the sarcasm about 4 slot recievers. Honestly, who cares? Did Michigan continually utilize Collins and DPJs size throughout the season. They gave Collins a deep shot a game, that's about it. If these guys are going to work better for what Gattis wants to do, and obviously you would have to assume their YAC is going to be better than Collins and even DPJ. You still have Cornelius at 6'3" if you want to use the fade in the red zone or whatever. I don't give a shit about prototypical NFL size. You don't see OSUs receivers as a bunch of 6'3 or 6'4" guys. Not comparing, but it's obvious Gattis wants more elusiveness and speed and I'm all for that. Shit people forget all the plays Jeremy Gallon and Roy Roundtree made because they played on shitty teams. This offense needs to have at least one guy close to 8-900 yards next year I don't care who it is. Pathetic numbers across the board when your leading reciever in catches, Bell, had what like 40? Collins even less but more yardage. It's bullshit.

F*ck - this hurts. Ever since Tarik tore it up unexpectedly as a Freshman, I think everyone was rooting for him. Seems like a good dude and hard worker. Injuries are a bitch and unfair. Best of luck to him if he goes elsewhere.

Silver lining here is that perhaps DPJ and/or Nico is/are coming back? Even one of those, Bell, and the returning WRs makes for a very good position group.

I have a hard time imagining that they have both made up their mind, unless it's to leave.

I think Tarik just wants out. If one or both of the other two return (I'm pessimistic) it will soften the blow, and if both were to return (VERY pessimistic) then Tarik is wise to go. But I think he would've had a chance to shine next year here.

Hard to do a lot in less than three games as a true freshman, but he also caught a 37-yard pass against Florida and had 5 catches for 55 yards against Air Force before getting hurt.

For a true freshman he looked really good, and Michigan could certainly have used him. If he had played all year he was on pace to catch 40-50 passes, which is quite good for a freshman and something Michigan could have really used that season.

This year, in contrast, he appeared in 11 games and caught 25 passes total.

2-83 TD against Florida

4-11 vs Cinci

5-55 vs Air Force

..and then got hurt. Yah, that was a pretty good start as a true frosh who wasnt supposed to be the dude out of that WR class. As someone else mentioned, you can't do much if you are not playing in games.

Maybe he wasn't playing at a Frosh All-America level, but he played well enough where you comment is unnecessary.

Wish Tarik well in his next spot. The talent is there for sure. I will say, this really increases the need for at least one if not both DPJ and Nico to come back. If we lose all 3 of them, WR could be....challenging next season.

Not surprising. Not at all. Hope he finds what he's looking for.

We're gonna look back on the Nico-DPJ-Tarik era and be dumbfounded. Luck and scheme conspired to essentially neutralize this crew.

Pretty much what I expected. He was the 4th option, and even if Michigan's offense became better as the season went along, it still wasn't an offense that was going to give WRs gaudy numbers. I assume he thinks transferring is his best path to the NFL. My bet is he kills it for another team unfortunately. He will be a huge "what could have been"

I mean, possibly. I don't know where Nico is projected right now. But he's a top 10 WR in CFB and he had 33 receptions for less than 700 yards. If Nico were somewhere more uptempo I can't even imagine the stats he'd put up, and that would most likely help his draft stock.

It may not hurt is his draft stock, but it may not help it more than transferring either.

He should go to Washington State or Oklahoma State- they will put it up 50 times a game. I agree that Tarik wasn't going to be the focus of our offense next year and if I am right about Giles and Mike S, and Bell then I agree he probably was going to be the 4th best WR option. Plus we will have veteran RB's and Evans to consider in the passing game.

Our offense is going to be loaded- we won't miss him.

Will hurt if both Nico and DPJ go pro. But if one of them stays, I don't think it'll be a big factor. Nico-Bell-DPJ got the lions share of targets and receptions. I'm confident with Bell-Johnson-Sainstril-Jackson next year. But if we get hit with injuries, then it will hurt.

Does this mean he can’t play in the bowl game?

I am seriously curious if the portal means you are no longer eligible or if eligibility is only impacted if in fact you file transfer papers.
