Jake Butt said it right...it's all about Illinois and OSU.
He has to carry Michigan to victory and have a couple of solid games.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:37 PM ^
No, it is only about the next game: Nebraska. Don't dare look past the next game regardless of who it is.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:40 PM ^
No one is looking past anything. We're saying you can't win a Heisman playing Rutgers or Nebraska.
Relax.

It was a very good week for him even with that long TD called back.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:44 PM ^
Reminded me of Peppers....made me sick to my stomach. Peppers had his Hesiman moment robbed.
That wasn't a Heisman moment for Corum, but it was a big time run.

Throw him up the list. ;)

Assuming a lack of weirdness...
1. Georgia
2. M/OSU winner
3. TCU
4. 12-1 Pac 12 champ? M/OSU loser? Tennessee?
November 5th, 2022 at 11:40 PM ^
Loooong way to go.
TCU could lose next week to Texas.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:59 PM ^
B12 is a mess of excitement right now. I actually think Texas will end up taking it, but regardless it's difficult to imagine TCU surviving unscathed. Question is more about -1 TCU vs -1 USC/Oregon if it comes to it

TCU is going to lose to Texas next week. My mortgage check will be riding on it.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:44 PM ^
So now we hope the Pac-12 winner has two losses? I think so. In that situation, as long as the UM/OSU game is close, UM's chances of making the CFP seem better than any other 1-loss team.

The NCAA will figure out a way to get a 10-2 Gump team into the playoff over any other 1 loss team. Bank on it.

Clemson losing is loooong overdue. But Notre Dame can still fuck themself with a rusty nail.
The biggest thing to me is, having a playoff free of Alabama. THAT is a Christmas gift to all of college football. “God bless us, everyone.”

AP preseason top 10:
- Alabama (1,566 points) Out
- Ohio State (1,506)
- Georgia (1,455)
- Clemson (1,292) Most likely Out
- Notre Dame (1,242) Out
- Texas A&M (1,212) Out
- Utah (1,209) Out
- Michigan (1,203)
- Oklahoma (956) Out
- Baylor (884) Out
Tennessee and TCU were unranked
Once again showing why preseason polls don't matter.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:43 PM ^
But that's the thing...they do matter. Because when you're talking about quality wins, it's using these bullshit preseason rankings.
I'll go to my grave with it...rankings shouldn't be allowed to be released until AT LEAST after week 4. Preferably week 6.
But at least get 4 games in and see what's what.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:52 PM ^
Bingo. Pre-season rankings matter. The rankings matter every week bc the CFP is full of human-beings who use all kinds of criteria to make their individual decisions.
A team wants to get as high ranked as possible, as quickly as possible, then remain there as long as possible. The CFP notices.

Keep seeing posts about Tennessee possibly still cracking the top 4.
The playoffs are supposed to pin the top 4 teams in the nation to compete for a chance at the national championship.
Tennessee just lost to one of those teams. They are out of it.
That said. Look for Tennessee to be ranked #3 this week because the CFP committee is a joke.
