Lions would have gotten screwed in Green Bay anyway.
Don't get your hopes up, Seattle.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:32 PM ^
Sigh.
Spoiler mode.
Lions are playing for a winning record and to fuck Aaron Rodgers.
^ which are good enough reasons to cheer them on!
January 8th, 2023 at 7:32 PM ^
shit
January 8th, 2023 at 7:34 PM ^
It doesn't take a genius to know what was going to happen. And if it wasn't going to happen there, it was going to happen at Lambeau.
Why? Loins. That's why.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:34 PM ^
Fuck me. The one time in 100 years I get to watch a Lions game that might actually mean something, and the Rams fuck it all up.
Great year for the Lions, by Lions standards. Hoping they have another draft like the last one...
January 8th, 2023 at 7:36 PM ^
Seattle is about to get fucked by proxy.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:42 PM ^
You got that right! It took til 7:30 on the last week for elimination, but the Lions certainly exceeded my expectations this year.
At least it'll hurt a little less than being eliminated by douchebag Rogers.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
Great year for the Lions
100%
I've been disappointed by on the Lions for most of my time on this rock. But they are trending in the right direction.
Lions unfortunately pissed away 3-4 games that very easily could have been wins this season.
Goff looked great this season. Running game was solid all season long. Just need to bolster the D a bit and this is a playoff team next year.
I fucking <3 me some MCDC too.
Plus the Lions didn't embarrass themselves post Hard Knocks.
... and DROY for Hutch!
January 8th, 2023 at 8:02 PM ^
Hey, don't blame my team. The Rams are without their QB, two best WRs, best 2 safeties, best defensive player and a number of offensive linemen. Can't overcome both that and the refs.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
well, another shitty weekend in sports.... not as bad as last week.... Lions weren't beating SF anyway
kick Roger's ass
January 8th, 2023 at 7:39 PM ^
That’s what happens when you leave your fate in someone else’s hands.
Lions have a lot to be proud of for the progress they showed this year. They’re clearly heading in the right direction and for 2023 they are legitimate playoff contenders. But that’s why you take care of your business when you have the opportunity to do so. Hoping someone else can help you get where you need to go is a recipe for getting burned.
But there’s still something to play for tonight. If you can’t go, take Rodgers down with you. That’ll feel damn good taking that into the off-season.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
Well tonight is certainly anti-climactic.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
Lions are one of the few teams capable of being continually fucked by refs when they're not even on the field.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:46 PM ^
Yep.....
Seattle player pushes Ram into the punter....
Seattle QB runs into the Ram player OB....
Seattle players smacks Ram in the face.....
Seattle taunting after the pick....
Anything else?
I thought for sure they wanted a winner take all tonight.
GO LIONS!!!!!!!!
January 8th, 2023 at 7:49 PM ^
Didn't affect the outcome as it happened before the pick but the missed grounding call.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:54 PM ^
Yeah they seemed to move on from that pretty quick even as it was being discussed.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:52 PM ^
To be fair - the Rams guy wouldn't have even touched the punter. The punter grabbed him and pulled him down on top of him for the penalty. Total fucking joke call.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:42 PM ^
Well, I guess if anyone would have them revved up for the Pack regardless of playoffs, it's Campbell. He's probably going to throw the kitchen sink at them.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:49 PM ^
Looks have 6th and 15th picks in the draft. Two instant starters should come from that. DT and CB most likely.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:01 PM ^
Jansen was hoping for Joey Porter Jr the other day, I would like that pick.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:52 PM ^
Those of us in the Pacific Northwest are still rooting hard for the Lions.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:55 PM ^
Poor damn lions
January 8th, 2023 at 7:57 PM ^
Intriguing question for fellow Lions fans at least making tonight's game somewhat interesting.
Would you rather move up from 18 to 15 in this year's NFL draft by losing.....
or fuck Aaron Rogers by winning?
January 8th, 2023 at 8:03 PM ^
Rodgers to feel pain. Lots of pain.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:13 PM ^
Fuck Rodgers... You still get a starter at 18.
January 8th, 2023 at 7:59 PM ^
Beat the Packers and don't worry about the draft spot. This isn't like the NBA; there are enough good players at positions of need that dropping a couple of spots in the teens won't materially alter your draft options. And screwing the Packers out of the playoffs feels right cosmically.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:00 PM ^
Deleted, didn't save in the correct convo
January 8th, 2023 at 8:06 PM ^
Age old tradition of rooting for the Lions to lose for a draft pick is alive and well.
Damn are they snake bit. Roughing the punter.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:07 PM ^
Well I was going to use up some of my saved up energy and excitement that was reserved for tomorrow (10 days ago) and treat tonight like a consolation for no excitement tomorrow. Instead I’ll be in bed before halftime.
Why am I a sports fan again?
January 8th, 2023 at 8:08 PM ^
Fuck Seattle and fuck cheating weasel Pete Carroll.
Beat the shit out of Aaron Rogers.
Go Lions!
January 8th, 2023 at 8:11 PM ^
Tough month being a football fan in the state of Michigan

Lawd I detest Carrie Underwood's Sunday night football song
January 8th, 2023 at 8:19 PM ^
Bring back Bocephus!
January 8th, 2023 at 9:54 PM ^
He goes by Thunderhead Hawkins now
January 8th, 2023 at 8:55 PM ^
Would you take a Louisville slugger to her rendition of the track?!
...I'll show myself out
January 9th, 2023 at 8:26 AM ^
It is so contrived and falls flat. Bocephus (?) was the real deal that came with the imperfections his critics purport to lack. Purport being the operative word.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:18 PM ^
Here are the rules. You have to do 10 push ups every time:
- the Lions get hosed by the refs;
- there's a hyperbolic statement about the greatness of Rodgers;
- Tirico and Collinsworth root for the Packers to win.
- (edit) Rodgers complains to the refs.
Does anyone here have the stamina to make it through the game?
January 8th, 2023 at 8:26 PM ^
Is it humanly possible to do push-ups for 3 hours straight?
January 8th, 2023 at 8:38 PM ^
That would be about 13,694,720 push-ups… in three hours…
January 8th, 2023 at 8:21 PM ^
Get ready for the Lions to take it up the tailpipe by the refs in Green Bay to get A-A-Ron in the playoff
January 8th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
1st and goal from the 5, and held them to a FG. I'll take that...
January 8th, 2023 at 8:32 PM ^
Already have seen a couple no calls on GB…
January 8th, 2023 at 8:36 PM ^
Goff looks uncomfortable in the cold.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:39 PM ^
Anyone else hate the fact that the season is 17 fucking games?
What an awful number. This week should be the wild card round. Instead we get this shit.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:40 PM ^
Great stop!!!!
January 8th, 2023 at 8:40 PM ^
F GB!*
*and Seattle too!
January 8th, 2023 at 8:43 PM ^
Holy crap, how do you not call PI on that!
January 8th, 2023 at 8:46 PM ^
And Douglas held St Brown for most of the 20 yard route.
No calls tonight.
January 8th, 2023 at 8:49 PM ^
Refs want game to be over
January 8th, 2023 at 10:23 PM ^
This game was likely over before it started anyway---didn't you see the preview ?
and the thing is…pretty much the entire country knows it’s true.#onepride #NFL pic.twitter.com/H0NXGJp7d0
