Student/Alumni Petition for Dave Brandon's Resignation (2000 signatures and counting)
Sign it, don't sign it, it is up to you. But this exists, and if you have a UMID you can sign it. I'm not longer a student and I could still sign it, so it's worth a try even if you're a few years removed.

I was nervous to start a new thread on this because I rarely post on MGoBlog. I just read. But this seems like something that can get some attention and traction without hurting our players.
EDIT: I do not know how much this will help things, but I'm someone who really dislikes the idea of boycotting games because of the message it could send to our players. That said, if this gets big enough (and it's growing quickly) hopefully a media outlet will pick it up and run with it.

Screw petitions, students should be camped on the President's lawn 24/7 at this point.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:25 AM ^
I've noted I'm not an alum so I know what I type and opine doesn't hold much weight, but at this point I think you're on to something with this; real change needs to happen and current students are the first in line to help make this change come true (nothing against students who aren't in the mood for this bullshit tactic, unfortunate as it's repurcussions may really uphold).
September 30th, 2014 at 1:32 AM ^
That's probably why they already put up a privacy fence.
For those of you waiting for the new president to give a shit about anything, be prepared to wait a while.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:23 AM ^
Send emails to Schlissel and the regents. I'm betting we are waiting to can Brandon until we find a relacement since we are in the middle of the season. I'd take Bates since he has had better hires than Manuel.

This is growing by the minute. It looks like it was started today or very recently and is already over 750 people. Very easy and quick and is a direct line to the Michigan Central Student Government. May or may not help but if enough people sign it probably accomplishes something similar to having 80,000 people chant Fire Brandon in the Big House.
Let's do this. Enough is enough. Just resign already Mr. Brandon and save some face for you and the program thank you.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:36 AM ^
It was started somewhere between 6-8PM this evening. To the poster above, I'm all for lawn camping if that's what it takes. I just still want to support our players.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:49 AM ^
Thank you for being one of the posters to inform me about this petition. It is the least I can do since I'm no longer in Ann Arbor.
I'm glad some people are taking action. The regents and president need to discuss this and get involved soon for the good of everyone involved including Brandon and Hoke who appear to be way in over their heads.
This is a good lesson also to not step on passionate peoples' toes too hard and too many times. I hope Brandon learns this lesson and understands this isn't personal but necesary.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:52 AM ^
No problem. I don't know how many people started the letter, but they deserve the real thanks. To quote the secretary in Ferris Bueler, they're righteous dudes.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:29 AM ^
Signed, sealed, and delivered. Do the the right thing Dave: fire Hoke, replace him with an interim head coach, and announce when you are planning to step down and resign.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:28 AM ^
Watch, this will actually work and Brandon will get fired, yet he'll still show up to work the next day due to a "lack of communication".
September 30th, 2014 at 1:28 AM ^
Wow feels surreal to see this growing so quickly after I helped my buddy proofread this at 9 pm tonight (so any grammatical errors are my fault). I already signed and i encourage others to as well.

You guys need to be commended for making our voices heard.

I bet when Brandon was riding the bench for Bo's teams that he'd thought that he'd love to hear the Big House chanting his name. I wonder how it felt on Saturday.

Haven't used my uniqname in many years... glad to know it still works for such a good cause.

FUCK. YOU. DAVE.

I like this analogy for some reason. Civil war indeed, Dave Brandon is fighting for his career.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:38 AM ^
Sealed and delivered. I'll be drafting emails to the regents as well and sending those off, too. Thanks for sharing.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:38 AM ^
Yeah. still go to the games and still cheer. We need to clear house for both on field and off field improvements.
September 30th, 2014 at 8:10 AM ^
This is not their fault. They came out in droves for the Penn State players, our players deserve it from us.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:40 AM ^
Signed. This has become unreal.

My password has expired. Tried to go to the expired passwored page which, ironically, requires me to LOG IN. ARGH.
I'll have to call in tomorrow to reset my password. Looks like they are up to about 1,000 signatures so far.
September 30th, 2014 at 6:50 AM ^
You can reset it on that same page. Just follow the "Need a uniqname" link and fill out the personal info. I needed to do the same thing.

signed. i like how this makes the user sign in with their uniquename. it really shows UofM that the students and alumni are really unhappy and that its not just a few people that found a way to sign a petition a few hundred times each
September 30th, 2014 at 6:34 AM ^

And they effectively communicate what the issue is without alienatng other groups (especially the players). I encourage all students and alumni to get on the website and sign that petition.
If you do not know your username and password and you are an alumni with a Alumni ID #, you can create your own ID and password .
Go to this link: https://accounts.itcs.umich.edu/create/alumnirec/ and follow the instructions.
September 30th, 2014 at 8:22 AM ^
Signed, thanks for the link.
I have no personal animus for Dave Brandon, but the state of the AD and football program in particular speak for themselves.

Anything, no matter how small, helps. Sign it and then share. We have to keep putting pressure on the people that can make this decision until he's gone. Enough is enough.
September 30th, 2014 at 9:26 AM ^
I am signer 1708. I can't believe I still remember my umich password a decade later. Anything like this that helps is a great thing. Thanks for sharing!
September 30th, 2014 at 9:41 AM ^
Signed, and with a quickness. Heartfelt props to the organizers of this petition and Go Blue.
September 30th, 2014 at 9:50 AM ^
Remember to keep sharing it. A huge number of people signing (like 5-10k) would be impossible not to notice. At the very least, I'm sure the Daily will eventually pick up on it.
Also, would someone mind posting something they've sent to the regents? I'm at work and can't really draft one today, but was curious to see a couple. Hopefully people are making tons of calls and sending lots of letters because without a huge amount of volume, this won't work.
As it is, it may take more to get them to listen.
September 30th, 2014 at 10:01 AM ^
of course.
