Statement from Hackett: believes Gary was offered "incentives"
Jim Hackett was quoted as saying he thinks Gary was offered "incentives" during his recruitment. Very bold statement for someone attached to an athletic department to make and I'm pretty surprised it hasnt gotten any more coverage so far. My bets are on Ole Miss or Auburn as to who it was

That's how we watched late night R-rated shows on HBO in the 80s. If you looked long enough and just right, you might catch a flash of bare skin.

Dude NSFW

Only people over 35 actually know what we are looking at. Wow! This directly breaks Brian's "no sexy bits" policy.

I saw them on the Internet twice.

Each one one time? or the pair two times? should we count it as 2x2?

I've always felt the same way.

look for a sudden insurgence of talent at a place of high expectations and relatively modest recent results. I am not saying "Michigan State basketball," but "Michigan $tate baske_ball."
They should have just found somebody to recruit who was actually named Neon Budow if they were going to go this route.
February 4th, 2016 at 11:07 AM ^
read that as "Neon Butthole" at first glance.
February 4th, 2016 at 10:49 AM ^
I believe Ole Miss is the most blatant. Clemson...eh. They have a good coach, so I think he plays a major roll in their recent success. That said, I would not be surprised if they have bag men.
February 4th, 2016 at 10:55 AM ^
My gut is both Ole Miss and Clemson did things - Ole Miss for sure and Clemson most likely. But I would not put Clemson in the "new money" class many think they are all the sudden. They are different than Ole Miss.
Taking out Ivy League schools Clemson is tied for 20th in all time wins at 703 and has a 60% all time win %. To frame that Florida has 701 wins all time and a 63% win rate and Auburn has 74 wins and a 63% win rate.
Ole Miss on the other hand is not to be found in top 75 of all time wins.
February 4th, 2016 at 11:37 AM ^
I have no doubt they both break the rules but Clemson hasn't had the metoric rise like Ole Miss. Clemson was usually in the 7-9 win programs who most felt could and should be better. There's also a reason 'Clemson going to Clemson' came to be - they'd be on the cusp of something really good only to shoot themselves in the foot.

what AJ brown posted yesterday when he signed with Ole Mi$$
February 4th, 2016 at 11:55 AM ^
So a guy flips to Ole Miss and then records a Vine of him suddenly with maybe ten to twenty thousand dollars in cash. That alone should warrant some kind of NCAA inquiry
Edit: Apparently that's not actually AJ Brown

But that was just a screen grab of a video lil boosie posted. Not a pic of the kid himself. Not to mention that's gotta be $50,000 on that table - he probably didn't get that as a signing bonus.
February 4th, 2016 at 11:32 AM ^
But the fact that the kid did post a screen grab of this Li'l Bootsie fellow--and a photo of young squire Bootsie surrounded by piles of cash and doing a Heisman pose--isn't a good optic for the kid.
February 4th, 2016 at 12:26 PM ^
Agreed, but we also know that all kids do not post the "smartest" things on social media.

What's the point if you're not going to provide specifics?
If you knew this yesterday why did you have to wait for someone else to say it first?

February 4th, 2016 at 10:55 AM ^
If you're going to share it then yes share it. The problem is when you say you know stuff but don't say what the stuff is, until someone else says what it is. What's the point?

but the second point is something you "saw" that was allegedly a red flag to the naked eye, even if that eye is trained in journalism. So, if you flat out saw it and could enlighten us, I think we would all appreciate it.

Doesn't mean his family would turn down anything...but I am a non-operative doc in an ortho group in a high cost-of-living area, and really don't see them hurting for cash.
