Stadium grades for ADs on past hires. Manuel tanks 7th in B1G

Jeff Goodman and Brett McMurphy ranked all ADs on their past hires in the big money sports, football and men’s basketball.
Gene Smith and Barry Alvarez topped the conference. Warde Manuel places seventh, and gets a C- for his football hires, Turner Gil and Jeff Quinn at Buffalo, and Bob Diaco at UConn.
while obviously dealing with a wider and deeper candidate pool should Michigan make a change, maybe slow your roll based on past performance.
Mods, please, if possible, change tanks to ranks. My apologies.
And fix all the other grammatical errors so that we can understand this, please. ?
No, tanks looks fine there. All caveats pertaining to Buffalo and UCONN apply, however.
7th in the B1G arguably qualifies as tanking.
Tanks. Tanks alot.
Ranking Manuel behind Rutgers's AD is farcical.
Ranking anything Michigan behind anything Rutgers is farcical.
Offseason clickbait because they know we’re the most angry fanbase.
Never mind. What difference does it make what he did before UM.
Best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.
Now, maybe he has learned from these previous decisions, and, as I stated, he’ll have a much better candidate pool here than he had at either Buffalo or at UConn. And maybe he learned more through the hires he’s made here already. But, if Jim Harbaugh is replaced, as many on this board seem to want, that next hire will be the most important hire for the program since Bo. We have to hope he’s learned those lessons well.
I guess maybe we can give them a pass given the current state of sports and the need to write about something, but good lord do I hate these types of "analysis".
Exactly.
Over the past 3-4 years, where did Michigan finish in the directors cup? Revenue increase, profit? Nah, stick to conjecture
he is a good AD
Mel Pearson- Frozen Four in year 1 just a year removed from a shitshow season
Hannah Nielsen- turned fledgling W Lax program that had yet to have a winning season into top-10 team
Kevin Conry- Digging M Lax out of disaster start to its program, has gotten Michigan’s first wins against OSU (last meeting) and PSU
M Tennis coach Adam Steinberg left for Arizona State bur Warde convinces him otherwise and he has resurrected Michigan Tennis. Wolverines were #3 before the rest of 2019-20 season was cancelled.
Jennifer Klein- Turned W Soccer program around in just 2 years. Back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a handful of years, beat PSU at PSU which was once impossible and is 4-0 against OSU and MSU
DIDN’T Fire M Soccer coach Chaka Daley when fans and former players were clamoring for it. Chaka proves Warde right by winning the first B1G Championship in M Soccer history, NCAA team every year since and have owned MSU lately.
Zach Barlow- M Golf has been a wreck for many years. He didn’t even get to finish his first year. He gets at least 6 years imo as he is working against decades of history of institutional neglect. No B1G title since 1952.
Every hire he has made has either been great or we don’t have enough data yet to assess.
Ha, knew you had the supporting data.
I mean, sure, but Manuel should have fired Bakich when he had the chance.
This data is messed up. Why would he hire anyone when almost all of our coaches in almost every sport are already awesome?
Okay Wolvoomer Devotoomer.
Man, I really wouldn’t want my current job evaluation to be based on my performance at a different job years ago.
