Sparty Week: Stay Safe Out There!

Submitted by 608Monroe on October 15th, 2023 at 10:46 AM

Seeing a number of comments on Sparty boards suggesting they would redeem their season by beating Michigan (duh), or more likely — injuring one of our key players.  Yeah, that’s right. Many Sparty supporters believe injuring Michigan players is a legit strategy at this point.

Ok, first off.  What absolute dicks, if true. Makes me encourage Harbaugh to pound them even worse than I expect he will already (because of the tunnel incident).  But it does bring a point that other folks have mentioned on this board.  I would like to see our starters pulled off the field perhaps a bit earlier in these lopsided games.  I didn’t love seeing the first team on the field after leading 38-7 yesterday.  And if the Sparty game gets out of hand, which it will, it just seems like we’re asking for disaster to strike — especially at MSU at night.

That being said, I hope we win 70-0, with Tuttle, Denegal, and 2nd/3rd team guys leading the way the second half.

And so is Ben Mathers, the "Director of Football Operations" who was plainly visible on camera during the tunnel incident running into the MSU locker room, immediately after which the players who were already in the locker room came pouring back out into the tunnel aggressively.

I wasn't there, but it was so obvious that he's the genius who ran to get the rest of the team and yelled "Fight in the tunnel!" or some such nonsense.  Chief pourer of gas on the fire.

Yea, I’m expecting a knife fight into the stadium and my car being on bricks after the way last year went. Just ugly. Sucks it sucks so bad for you guys that you’re that angry.

I have no doubt their fans ( well the ones that post on boards, which is not fair to judge, based on that sample set  ) would love to see our players injured.
but I don’t think there  is enough deep seated hatred on that team to muster the effort it would take to injure our players , they are all transfers and left overs from a tattered regime, The new coach also has not shown in any way that he can motivate them to do even the simplest tasks.
Mork lived off a scowl and the words of a college kid for many years , he is a petty little man who was never quite good enough and he functioned that way , Tucker was a fraud in way over his head , who pretended ( always ) to understand the rivalry , he also knew he could get away with anything ( well , almost ) if he just beat Michigan .

In what I have watched out of that team this year , I just don’t think they give a shit about anything , including this rivalry, enough to muster any kind of fight, and even if they do, This team will remove it very quickly!

Nonsense. They're not going to do any of that.

MSU Spartan football program was running almost entirely on Dantonio's hate for Michigan and the whole DISRESPEKT charade.  There's not enough fumes of that left anymore, and they know it.

But they are most likely going to get steamrolled by 30+ points because they simply cannot run the football at all and they can't stay on the field once they hit a 3rd down. Defensively their rush def is mid, and they're pass defense has been either MIA on key downs, or a major liability in 4 straight games.

And don't even get me started on Michigan State penalty yards.  Spartans are the new Nebraska - more likely to blow themselves up than even bruise their opponent on the gridiron.

How TF do you lose to Rutgers after leading by 18 points. That is insane
