So where will we be ranked this week?

So with today’s action done, where are we going to be ranked?  Bama’s second loss means that they will likely move out of the top 10, moving us to 6. But what about Sparty? Same record, they just had a bad loss to a mediocre team, but obviously they likely stay ahead of us because of the head to head.

Which creates an interesting dynamic: We shouldn’t fall unless we lose, so us at 6 seems reasonable. But does that create a floor for Sparty because it keeps them at 5?  I’ll be curious how that dynamic plays out over the next few weeks assuming (hoping) we keep winning.

I didn't realize you were a part of the football program. What position do you play/coach? Wait, what's that? You're not involved in any way? You're just a troll who exists to trash everything Michigan related?

Are you also UMxWolverines? You both seem to hate Michigan more than every other rival fan combined.

LMAO. Bama's second loss? WTF are you telking about.

If just doesn't matter what we are ranked. WIN OUT and we very likely win the Big Ten East. Then with the BIG title and we'll be in the playoffs. Period.

They will pass MSU, coinflip game head to head and a double digit unranked loss for MSU. But as others have said almost no chance MSU wins out so for UM it's simple, win out and you're in.

I don't think Michigan will pass MSU in the CFP this week.  Oregon won an coin flip game v OSU and lost to a horrible Stanford team and were still ahead of OSU.  My guess is MSU holds at #6.

But yes, now we (almost certainly, assuming OSU beats MSU) control our own destiny in the conference and CFP race.

My guess is that Purdue’s win will cause the committee to move Oklahoma and Notre Dame ahead of Michigan State and Michigan. My guess is that Michigan will be #9 — one spot behind MSU.

In many ways, I concur with this assessment. But I will also continue to be deeply concerned about the coaching room-and the playing and scheming of this game for this very sound roster. Though it does seem as though there are new members to this group that are able to mitigate at least some of the former problem areas.

I find it most curious that so many on this blog are so BPONE regarding where Michigan stands in the rankings. (It has to be a protective psychological strategy.) The committee, relative to their first submission, clearly thinks very highly of this team's potential and are satisfied with their performance. Objectively, MSU will drop to at least 8 and everyone else will move up a slot-with Wake dropping to at least 11 and ND and OKST moving up a slot. This committee is not comprised of a bunch of wannabee athlete AP sportswriters...these people actually know the game and athletics in general very well.

1) UGA

2) Bama

3) Oregon

4) OSU

5) UM

6) Oklahoma

7) Cinci

8) MSU

Cinci was getting little respect and isn't getting the margin of victory to help their cause. A close call against Tulsa basically ended their CFB playoff chances unless there is total chaos.

Sharty lost to an unranked team by double digits.

Oklahoma is still undefeated - great weekend for them considering they didn't even play.

Except for Georgia, the Top 5 winner looked rather lame in their wins. The question is where will Sparty end up? Will they be ranked above or below Michigan and higher than Cinti?

OSU jumps Sparty and gets into the Top 4. U-M moves up 1 or 2 depending on where MSU fits.

U-M won by 22 at home while OSU won by 9 on the road where they didn't meet the point spread. 'Bama squeaked out a home win again an unranked LSU team but they'll remain at #2. Oregon did well enough against Washington.

What to do with Oklahoma...

1) Georgia

2) 'Bama

3) Oregon

4) OH State

5) Oklahoma

6-7) either U-M or MSU

8) Cinti (they did not get the style points they needed in their home win)

What's up with scoreboards?

I was at a Wisconsin game and they showed Michigan losing to Western by a lot. The crowd went nuts. Much later, they flipped the scores and everyone groaned.

Scoreboard types must have fun with getting people all riled up.

1. Georgia

2.  Alabama

3.  Oregon

4.  Ohio State

5.  Michigan State

6.  Michigan

7.  Cincinnati

8.  Oklahoma

9.  Notre Dame

10. Oklahoma State

Committee will respect the head to head, especially from 3 to 6.  I think Michigan jumps Cincinnati because Cincinnati barely survived 3 - 6 Tulsa at home.  I think Purdue will jump from unranked into the top 20.
