So are we that good? Or Wisky that bad?

Or both?

Wisky offense is bad . It helped us that Mertz went out . Even though he didnt have a great game, he started to put it together at the end of the 1st half .

And, right on schedule . . .  Same people that said we were going to lose to Wisconsin are now going to say that they are not that good.

I mean they're 1-3 now. We can't say ND is overrated anymore right since Michigan did the same thing right?

I feel like this team is GOOD, not great but time will tell. I still think the coaching staff is the biggest liability with the team as a whole.

"We can't say ND is overrated anymore right since Michigan did the same thing right?"

Wrong.  ND scored 41 points behind two pick 6's and a KO return TD.  Michigan scored 38 legit offensive points.  Michigan's offense moved the ball consistently, and scored often, whereas ND had a couple of decent drives and otherwise smelled up the joint on offense.  It's pretty easy to say that Michigan played a FAR better offensive game than did ND against a really good defense.

Defensively, I'd call it a wash despite the pick 6's ND got.  Michigan did it in Madison, where ND had the gift of a 'neutral' field in Chicago.

In the name of college football's transitive powers, I declare Michigan the better team!

Michigan is performing at a higher level than ND given ND's competition.  I wouldn't know for sure before the game but it seemed likely that Wisconsin stopped the ND run game because ND doesn't have a run game while Michigan does have a run game.

I don't care if Wisky is reeling. That was a fine performance. Slayed a big dragon on the road.

Really well-played game. All phases of the game well done.

It just really sucks both Wisconsin and Washington are terrible, so these 2 wins aren't as impressive as we thought they'd be. If Wisconsin was still ranked 12 and we won, that would've been huge. If Washington was ranked 20 when we beat them, that would've been huge.

It's literally looking like Rutgers is our strongest win at this point which is hysterical.

There are a lot of ebb and flows of team strength for the "middling" teams that are between 15th and 50th ranked each year.

So I agree with you...but happy that we are at least getting our wins. Years later it looks more impressive...and obviously can help build the recruiting.

If the teams we played were any tougher, we may have lost. Going to cross my fingers that we can continue to get better and have a fighting chance against the best teams.

I get your point, but this is still a substantial win for the team and should be celebrated as such. I don't think you can just meander into Madison and beat the Badgers by 3 touchdowns and not be a good team. Michigan thoroughly dominated Wisconsin convincingly for 4 quarters. PSU and Notre Dame both beat Wisconsin.. they didn't however do what Michigan did today.

Wisconsin is definitely not a vintage Wisconsin team this season. Michigan is playing football like a top 10 team in the nation. I think both of those things were proved true today.

If UW is that bad, why were they favored to win?

Mertz going out obviously helped, but we also led 20-10 by the time their backup entered the game (Mertz was injured on a 3rd-down sack).

This is a good team.  How good exactly, we’ll see.  Cade took a big step forward today and I feel a lot better about the QB position.

UW was favored due to a tight early 4th quarter score vs ND, up 13-10. Couple that with Mich scoreless vs Rutgers at home during the last 30 min of the game. Also that UW beatdown Mich the past two years.

That changed this year!! I saw passion all game long Michigan showed. One game at a time. Now 5 and 0 so let's get Nebraska next week. The Michigan defense travels, GO BLUE!!

As always, it’s a bit of both, but Wisconsin’s defense is legit. And Camp Randall is always a rough place to play.

Michigan deserves plenty of credit for what it did today. All these points came at the expense of Wisconsin’s defense. No special teams TDs or pick sixes like what ND had. Michigan really took it to Wisconsin’s defense today, and there was the potential for a lot more points on the board. Just some missed opportunities.

I missed it! I lost my stream as the 4th quarter was starting, so I don't know what happened. Surprised by  the score. I'll have to watch the highlights. Glad the boys can sing The Victors in Madison  Finally!

UW offense is bad-bad-bad and yet still played worse than I thought they would. Credit to the defense there.

The UW defense is among the best UM will see all year so kudos to the UM offense but imagine if some of those gimme passes were on target, not dropped, Wilson doesn't go OOB before the catch, etc. It could have been more impressive so that's great and shocking compared to what I expected.

That said, they're still who I thought they were. Ugly first half, etc. I still don't think this team is in the upper-B1G. Will probably be playing MSU for who is 4th best in the league...

...today. Keep gaining confidence in that passing game and I'll happily eat crow. Sounds insane to say but Nebraska may end up being their toughest test of this season.

Good win.

Not thinking about either.  Just insanely happy to win.

I also don’t care that nobody outside us will care that we won this game but as Bob Ufer said, “Who gives a damn.”

We deserved this and Wisconsin had this coming. So suck on this, cheeseheads.

GO BLUE!!!!!!!

They went into a hostile environment, played a desperate team, and dominated that game. Wisconsin 1-3 but have played a good schedule. Team never once looked flat, dline is improving greatly, they played with passion, wide receivers adjusted and made plays.

Huge win and they showed they could do it on the road against a team that was favored. They didn’t run repeatedly into a stacked box. This Wisconsin team is probably not as good as previous teams but if they don’t go in there with that game plan they very easily could have lost. Also showed they can pass and kept Cade clean against a dline with a lot of sacks.

Impressive performance. When we were up and Wisconsin scored right before halftime there was a “seen this before feeling” except that didn’t happen. They came out and made a bunch of plays. This team improved and grew a lot today. Other teams are going to need to respect the pass now.

Most impressive and complete performance against a good defense. This years team looks very different. Feeding off the energy of jump around was something we haven’t seen before. I was wrong on this year and they got some revenge for previous 2 years.

Tip the cap, admit I was wrong, and enjoy a complete performance against a team better than their record suggests, and look forward to the rest of the year.

Wisky is not a 60 minute football team and proved it again this and at home. Mich capitalized on the Wisky mistakes which bodes well. The margin of victory is impressive. Didn't expect a beatdown by the Maize and Blue and it was beautiful to see. GO BLUE!!

The Michigan defense plays a bruising game each week and showed improvement this week. The 3 and out in the opening of the 3rd quarter by our defense pretty much shut the door and was a turning point in the game.

I'm pumped! Did I say GO BLUE??!!

Neither.

You can't do what we've done without being solid.

But watch these teams at the very top. They're on a different level.

We're good enough to compete among the best of the rest, but I can't say we're anything more than that.

Wisconsin is pretty ass, but give our guys some credit...it's still Wisconsin. They have talent, we just took it to them, it's that simple.

In short, we're good enough to win the league and not good enough to do it without bringing our A-game (every time out).
