And that's almost forgiveable, as that was their first pass of the game after 132 straight running plays.

If they had quit after the first pass, the QB would have been 1-1, with 1 TD and 0 INTs for 64 yards. What would THAT QBR look like???

1 bust. Not terrible.
Held AF to 168 rushing yards. That is impressive, especially given the stalling offense.

Really impressive given Brown should have defended it differently. Everytime we stacked the line we stuffed them. Why we were rollling with three d-lineman is beyond me. I also thought crack back blocks were illegal. That's all air force did. How do you run the ball everyplay and not get one holding call. I guess because one asshole ref thinks Crawford's was a hold. Sorry that was a great run.

Couple of busts, but the defense is damn solid. Love the relentless push from the front three. Hurst, Gary, and Winovich are studs.

Don Brown. You sir deserve a raise for those heavy shoulders you currently have carrying this team

bailed us tf out. very anxious to see if they can do the same against purdue

About 3.5 yards per carry for Air Force. Michigan's offense still outrushed Air Force. Very happy with the defensive performance.

Letdown. The D didn't score in this game. /s of course.

Fantasy football-wise, our D/ST has at least one TD in every game.

This defense did fine against Air Force, but it is designed to absolutely eat up a pass-heavy outfit like Purdue. Gary, Winovich, Hurst, and Bush are going to get to EAT.
September 16th, 2017 at 3:49 PM ^
Basically three mental errors (long run that led to the 50 yard field goal, the TD, and getting flanked on the one long McVey run that set up the missed field goal. For a game against a triple option that's fantastic.

Almost perfect. 2 small busts, 1 big one. Held AF to 13 points, when they've had >24 for almost 10 straights or something. The offense plays even just average and we're talking about this being an A+ game for the D, getting AF into obvious passing situations. Instead they had to take on the option attack all game.

Just need to never play service academies....

Love watching this defensive unit get after it...Bush is a DUDE!

I count 3 sacks for -27 yards in ESPN's play-by-play. Adjusted:
Rushing 195 yards on 46 rushes: 4.2 yards
Passing: 37 yards on 12 attemps (1 completion, 8 incompletions, 3 sacks) for 3.1 yards per play.
* Counts as rushes any (if there were) plays designed as a pass where the QB gained yards.

Good God I love Don Brown. A lot of teams would come in unprepared for a triple option offense but Brown is on top of his game. Makes me wonder how much longer we'll hold onto him if he decides to become a head coach somewhere... will be a sad day.

I thought the D did great. Young D against a different O that punishes miscues is a potential bad situation and they did what they need to do.
