Smile All Day Today - It is Great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

Mates,
As most of us get back to our daily lives today, smile.  Smile all day.  Calmly deal with the normal issues and concerns of life, and all the while, smile.  What a tremendous victory last night over a team with more 5*'s than the entire B10.   Michigan outcoached and outplayed them.  Washington is a good team and well coached, but they aren't going to beat us on Monday.

Hard times don't last and we know that good times don't, either.  But we are right in the middle of an incredibly sweet time.  Indeed, even the Detroit Lions are division champs and going to the NFL playoffs!

Smile knowing that the crying, wailing, and gnashing of teeth in East Landfill and ohio is at a fever pitch.  Smile knowing two (maybe the two) of the worst fanbases in all of CFB are crushed.  Smile knowing that they are the ones now whip-sawed from the nothing-burger 'scandal' for which they desperately wanted us to get the death penalty, to now having to watch us play for it all on Monday night.

Smile.  Enjoy it.  Savor it.  Wear your Michigan gear to work or to the grocery store, or wherever.

I especially enjoy it while sending emails back and forth with one of the plants I support in Ohio. All those people with that silly Block Zero in their email signatures have to be having a great day as well, right?

It's a beautiful morning...

Also a bit relieved that we got the jitters out of the way with this Alabama team instead of having them against a healthy UGA in a NC game. The stars seem to be aligned.

I was thinking about this last night watching the Washington game. Penix and those WRs played the game of their life. AMAZING throws. AMAZING catches. Is it at least possible that they peaked one game too early? Could they really follow up last night's performance with an equally amazing performance one week later?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking lol, but I'm hoping they emptied the tank against Texas

I’m so excited I’m half expecting everyone at work to mention it and celebrate it but only the real ones know how big this is

So... so... damned... sweet.   And long overdue.

Was messaging back & forth with someone yesterday about loved ones no longer with us that would have enjoyed yesterday.  Both of my grandfather's watched the last Rose Bowl win in 1998 but neither made it to see this one.  I was in a strange situation last night, telling my father about the game details over the phone within minutes of the final victory (he refuses to get cable/satellite and will only watch games when on network tv, doesn't want to listen to audio stream either, ... which never used to be a problem for the Rose Bowl until ESPN got their hands on it).  Glad to share that with him.

😁😁😁😁😁😁
Just saw an article of osu fans at Rose Bowl wearing ‘Osu fans supporting Alabama’ t-shirts. That is a pathetic low - and to lose with those shirts on: hilarious! 🤡😆

I don't know if y'all heard the roar that emanated from the little town of Hesston, Kansas when that great Michigan defense destroyed the Alabama front on that 4th and goal-but we tried to let you hear. And, we are grinning from ear to ear!

Hey, if anyone's curious, I visited the online Magic Eight Ball every day for three weeks before the game last night (and then twice yesterday, once before the game and once right when we went into overtime). The question was the same everyday: Will Michigan Football beat Alabama? In those 21 days, I only got 2 negative responses ("Don't count on it"). I had five days where the answer was non-committal ("Better not tell you now"), three days of "Ask Later," and the rest were variations of "Yes." Yesterday, I got two separate positive responses. The one right before overtime was "You may rely on it."

I did the same thing the week before the Ohio State game and didn't get one negative response, though I did get a couple non-committal responses.

Walking into my job shortly knowing these osu fucks can’t say anything. They’re all holding on the fact that “Michigan cheated” because they now know Michigan is so damn close to claiming a title. It’s all they have. Screw OSU and MSU. Grinning ear to ear

There is a certain lightness to my step today. Everything is beautiful, even the grey Midwestern skies.

Been following the team since being at UM back in 1987. This team is special. What a group of players. A big thanks to them. They have brought so much joy into the world for so many people right now!
