Shea Patterson Signs with the BC Lions

Shea is joining the CFL's BC Lions. Good Luck to him. I'm sure he'll fare better than Johnny Manziel
Didn't realize they had that many golf courses up there.
Is golf still off limits in Canada? He won't like that.
/OC proceeds to scratch read-option from playbook.
Good luck, Shea. I'd take your 19-7 record as a starter in a heartbeat right now.
*Qb wins are not a stat, but still.
Eh, 19-7 is good enough to keep Harbaugh around and never do anything noteworthy. At least we're on the tail end of his tenure now.
I'd take Shea over what we have coming back for '21. But objectively Shea is a bust. He was the top rated QB by all the services. Scout, Rivals, and 247 had him as a 5 star, ESPN had him as a 4 star. He went undrafted and now is trying out the CFL. Imagine that, a top rated player at his position coming out of high school, who started games in all 4 years of his eligibility in P5 conference, doesn't even get drafted. Huge bust.
Shea never beat OSU, never won a bowl game, beat ND, Wisconsin, and PSU at home but lost to those teams on the road. He was 2-0 against a pair of 6-6 MSU teams though.
Grey Cup soon come
Pro ball of some sort.
Congrats Shea!!! You're a G in the league - just like we were told you'd be!
This might be his speed.
Good for him! Vancouver is definitely a cool place to hang out.
Great city. He scored.
Agreed. It's also probably fair to say that he'll be spending a big chunk of his meager CFL salary on housing.
Good Luck to Shea!
Vancouver is a great city, so there are definitely worse places to end up...keep the dream alive!
How sure are you?
He lost only one game in Big House in 2 years, to OSU in 2019. He was under appreciated. I caught his eye pre game at Maryland in 2019. I thanked him for coming to Michigan. He looked stunned and then gave me a nod. Good for him.
Don’t get all the hate for Shea. Dude came to play against MSU.
BC bud
Haven't heard that term in a few years. Good times.
He kicked Sparty’s ass both times he played them. That alone endears him to me forever.
Hope he makes the most of the opportunity. And living in Vancouver isn’t too bad a gig.
Was Shea overrated coming out of IMG? Maybe. But maybe not by so much. He had a very good year with Mississippi before heading our way. He did a lot for Michigan. I wish him well and hope that he finds his stride in Canada and that his dream of playing in he NFL comes true sooner rather than later.
Good luck, Shea.
It's funny how Mineral stopped posting once Shea graduated. I think it was him all along! It was nice having Shea participate on this blog.
Your comment earned my upvote, but it also got me curious enough to look at his account. He hasn't posted since March 2020 when he and others had what I will term "an argumentative discussion". But he's not banned and I can see that he has lurked since the beginning of the year, just not recently.
I'm wondering if his new team has a fan blog and if he will now register there as "Mineral King".
The CFL regular season ends the week before Thanksgiving. Just in time for Shea to log back in and give his thoughts on the OSU game.
So last season BC was 1st in the west division - oh, wait, that's alphabetical, no games were played. In 2019 they were last in the west at 5-13, with 0 division wins. Only Toronto (4-14) & Ottawa (3-15) were worse.
I did not know Edmonton changed their name to the Elks.

I think Patterson had many excellent games at Michigan.
I hope that it works out great for him.
I'll be looking to see if I can watch some of his games.
That's what Shea needs - a longer field to underthrow the ball on.
But seriously, I wish him well. I don't think I can remember any UM QB who could look so good on one throw and so bad on the next. May he have many more of the first kind.
Go get 'em, kid.
Good to see him get another shot at playing football for a living. I hope he makes the most of it.
Shea was a very good QB for us. We saw 2017 and 2020, and 2018/2019 very well could have been equally as painful if not for him.
You all saw us play MSU last year, right? Yes, that actually did happen, and in the year following Shea Patterson's departure, mind you. After that game, I swore to never say anything bad about that man's quarterbacking ever again. I'll take Shea torching Sparty over whatever the fuck this other bullshit we're trying to do is.
CRIMINALLY underappreciated player! Have we had another QB with multiple wins as a starter over MSU since Henne? Nope.
I wish him nothing but the best. Did he take us to where we wanted to go during his time here? No. But I remember his post game pressers after tough losses. It was gut wrenching to watch. The kid hated to lose and a when he had a bad game, he always took full responsibility for it.
