Didn't see this posted yet but we may be without our starting safeties for week one against ECU. This story reports that Keon Sabb seems to be stepping up and is ready to fill the spot when needed.

Ha ha. Well, your comment inspired me to look up the origins of the phrase “take with a grain of salt,” and to be perfectly honest I really don’t understand how it now has the modern meaning.

According to several sites, the phrase is attributed to Pliny the Elder, who was writing up instructions for small doses of poison that people could take in order to build up immunity to those poisons. He evidently added the instruction to take the concoctions with a grain of salt so that they would taste better. Somehow, 2000 years later, the expression now means “to regard with skepticism.” I guess maybe people should have been skeptical about the idea of swallowing poison in the first place and so anything Pliny says to take with a grain of salt you should not trust because, shit, it’s poison!?

Anyway, very interesting. I’ll stick to “a grain” from now on!

Definitely wasn’t expecting all the negativity below with this bit of news. I personally am excited to see Sabb get some run. I’ve been excited to see him play once he committed to the good guys and ended up beating out Clemson for his service. The dude has some talent. Next man up approach. Go Blue!

Harbaugh said on Monday that there were no significant injuries during camp. I would qualify that as pretty significant and be a big change from what we heard. That being said, Michigan doesn't face any type of respectable QB until November and will be getting young guys significant PT which isn't the worst thing in the world either.
