Hasn't he fallen to 4th on the list of most wanted?

1. Wagner

2. Pierce

3. The kid who told everyone that Beilein was going to Germany (Bones Hyland)

4. Quinones

He's busy doing that "what would you do" show on ABC anyway.

I think he dropped to 4th in the pecking order of the current targets and they were no longer prepared to make an offer.

I'd like to think they know either Pierce or Hyland is coming, but that seems premature.

Yeah, this must be the most stressful time for Beilein. He likes to prioritize his offers and the timelines are running together.

Reports are the Pierce visit went extremely well, but he can't be a sure thing with the UNC visit coming up. Beilein doesn't want to give LQ the chance to decide first and take his spot.

We certainly don't know wants happening with Wagner, but I guess this could be taken as a good sign. On the other hand, if Wagner isn't coming, Beilein can't promise both Pierce and LQ they are the likely starter at the 2 next season and take both. Pierce and Hyland are a better pair than LQ and Hyland or LQ and Pierce.

I saw a report where Pierce stated he's being recruited by Michigan as a 2. He's gotten the only offer when everyone said Wagner was (and remains) the top priority. If they land both, I imagine they will see who fits where best, but does Wagner look like a 2? If they land Hyland instead, does he look ready to play major minutes? I don't know the answers.

I don't think many people went into this season with confidence in Brooks defending the 2, but he was quite adequate. Just in general, a grad transfer shifted over one position might be expected to defend better than a freshman.

FRANZZZZZ

But in all seriousness this could mean one or multiple of the below things:

1) Quinones' recruitment is dirty and we don't want to deal with it

2) Justin Pierce silently committed

3) Franz Wagner silently committed (which seems most likely due the timing and Beilein being in Germany)

4) Iggy is coming back (unlikely)

5) Bones Hyland silent commit

#1 is almost certainly true at least to a point, assuming that Beilein is in fact as clean as we (and the rest of the college basketball world) believe him to be. While it's possible that they see money flying around and just bow out, Michigan has recruited prospects that have had such issues attached to them before and not bowed out in this way. So it's quite possible that they are canceling because they don't want to issue an offer because priorities are elsewhere.
