He was the only person fired along with Caldwell. Still if he helps the team then I don’t really care but he has failed as most high profile stops.

People said the same thing about mcelwain being just a wr coach and then he became offensive coordinator after having an offensive offense at Florida. We need to hire more recruiting support staff. Getting rid of Gwen Bush was incredibly stupid.

Snyder is an absolute genius, who turned a perennial doormat into a consistent winner.

KSU and ISU are probably the most challenged Power 5 programs. No recruiting base, middle of nowhere, no history or winning tradition whatsoever.

Every other coach at KSU has struggled, forever.

So, it's not that Prince was so bad, but rather that Snyder is an amazing old warlock.

KSU grad here. No, he was fucking terrible. Every HS coach in the area ended up shutting him out because he was such a prick. Yes, Snyder is/was a genius and anyone following him would have had a tough job, but Prince was an absolute disaster. I still see random tweets from old beat writers telling stories about him. Now, I don’t give two shit that he is an analyst here, but don’t sugar coat his KSU experience. It was bad.

with his brash personality. None of the NFL coaches and players have good things to say about Prince.

Larry Warford didn't want to come back to the Lions because of Ron Prince.

Taylor Decker basically relied on LeCharles Bentley's coaching from the off-season workouts bc he knows that Prince's coaching is shit.

Prince was the run game coordinator and Lions were dead last because their scheme sucked despite having the talent to be a top 5 OL in the league.

he's a shell of himself after a foot injury in which he doesn't look as explosive as he was in his rookie year. He almost ran for over 100 yards against a vaunted Vikes defense.

Run scheme is awful and does not fit the JBC's system at all. I've heard several NFL people laughing at their scheme because it was bad.

Not one coach, player, parent, or HS school coach that dealt with him while at KSU has anything decent to say about him. He was a world class prick and pretty terrible at his job. Again, I’m sure Harbaugh will eat him up and spit him out if he causes any issues as an analyst, but I’m still surprised anyone would bring him on in any capacity at this point.

I certainly didn't watch the Prince era at KSU closely. My point is that comparing anyone to Snyder is really unfair. The "little apple" might be a fine little college town (have no idea), but it's a prison sentence for a head coach.

IMO, Snyder deserves to be on the short list of greatest coaches ever - how he succeeds there is miraculous.

Absolutely defer to your experience with Prince. Didn't really intend to defend his tenure.

"Michigan/East Coast/West Coast arrogance"... That is not a combination seen very often. You could have probably thrown in Chicago-area, Big Ten,large-state, SEC, northern schools, party schools, basketball schools, hockey schools, private schools, flagship schools, and just about any other non-KSU categorization into that statement as well.

It was completely unintentional, but yeah, I see your point. Guilty as charged.

The prison sentence part referred only to the difficulty of the job (really).

For kicks, I did a quick google of Manhattan. It's bigger than I thought - about 55k, though certainly still a small town. While the photos showed some stately old buildings, there were lots of pictures of parking lots and eerily quiet streets. And grass. Lots of grass.

Your actual knowledge of the place is interesting to me - is it a nice town? Good school? I really haven't ever thought too much about it, other than how difficult it must be to coach football there.

No worries. I work with and use to travel with people on both coasts. When I first met most of them I would have been better off saying I was from Mars than KS. I don’t take offense to it.

Great college town and has really grown even more since I graduated around 2000. Biggest problem is proximity obviously. It is about a 2 hour drive from KC. There is a municipal airport that you can at fly into now that wasn’t there when I was in school. That was always an issue when recruiting kids from the Coasts that had never been to the Midwest. They would fly in to KC and then have to drive 2 hours to Manhattan seeing nothing but farm land after getting out of KC. It really helps being able to fly them directly in to Manhattan. I was friends with a player and he told me great stories about some of the CA players. Some of them would have a house full of people waiting for them when they got back from a recruiting trip asking them questions about horses, cows, and if we had cars, etc. Pretty good stuff.

Is he gonna be in charge of clipboards or putting paper on clipboards or the guy that arranges the signs on the sidelines so the offense knows which cartton character to emulate in the upcoming play?

Jebus there are a lot of positions in this program that no one outside of JH know what they do.

I don't get this hire at all. HIs track record with coaching sucks and all the reports that I've read say his personality rubs people the wrong way. Not an amazing combination to have but f*ck what do I care? All I asked for Christmas was to have Drevno gone so everything after that is gravy.

Prince is such a dick. He used to punish his assistant coaches if he thought they under performed by having them run stadium stairs. I can’t believe Harbaugh’s bringing him in to the mix. His personality is toxic
