I get the whole "Michigan Man" argument it seems we want in a head coach, but maybe it's the position coaches that need to be a Michigan Man.

Every year or 2 there's one guy with a ton of passion that fires people up on the team. Peppers, Wino, Bush...

We need more than 1 guy pumping everyone up.

Hail to the Vi…

Glad to pickup Bellamy. Very much sucks to lose Warriner though. Hopefully Sherrone is a natural, and it is somewhat reassuring he was a former offensive linemen himself. Still losing one of the best in the biz is never a good thing.

Yeah, I went to Belleville and Crowell probably cost them the state title. Running down the clock to try a game winning FG at the end of the game was idiotic. Their kicker hadn’t attempted a FG all season, had a PAT blocked earlier in the game and a 38 yarder is no gimme. Belleville breezes through the regular seasons due to superior talent and then gets outcoached deep in the playoffs. So disappointing.

It’s true. Warriner has left and Moore is now co OC and OL coach. He was a guard at Oklahoma under Stoops. Michigan will be fine

Sucks to lose Warinner, but the staff, on paper, is looking really strong.

At the very least, M should start reeling in the 5 stars ASAP. I think Harbaugh has done a great job this offseason, all things considered.

Honestly, yes.

Many have been extolling Bellamy’s virtues for years. The DC is a young up and coming guy. No is supposed to be good as well as Heelow (I keep confusing that with my patient portal). All are good recruiters.
most are considers good coaches by their peers. The two big question marks are Nua and jean Marie; but both are supposed to be excellent recruiters.

It sucks to lose Warriner but it more and more sounds like that wasn’t up to us.

The bitching is insane. A year and a half ago people were bitching about how we had decent position coaches but they couldn’t recruit well. I guess the solution for the fan base is to hire hall of fame coaches at every position who also are great at recruiting.

if you have no optimism and it’s like a nightmare you can’t wake up from... stop watching and spreading the poison. Find some way to enjoy your entertainment. Constant optimism and constant negativity are both unrealistic. I reached that point with the Lions. I don’t think about them anymore.

Maybe it works out. Maybe not. But they have made some objectively strong moves. And with the emphasis on recruiting I think Harbaugh is trying to gear up to compete against schools that have other advantages. He may be thinking he’ll leave in a couple years but the cupboard won’t be left bare. Who knows. But it’s a strong move for the future.

if he has a strong year next year and people find themselves saying “damn I wish he did worse so he’d get fired” then Maybe those people have to ask themselves if they are really fans.

Wondering why you think the staff looks really strong. It's mostly composed of young, somewhat inexperienced, somewhat obscure coaches who've yet to make name for themselves at their new positions. Sure, they might be good. Or, just as likely, they were the best a lame-duck HC could find. None of the new guys, aside from Hart, were in hot demand by big programs.

I figured Bellamy was joining the staff when Edwards turned down Georgia and Notre Dame to stay home. This is what many of us (including myself) wanted...a young and energetic staff. Hopefully the recruiting success follows.

OK - so let's wait a week or so and see where Ed ends up. If he goes to JAX then I don't think he got fired as much as he got a new gig w/o worrying if his boss would be swept out after next year.

Urban threw Ed under the bus after 31-0 loss to Clemson but maybe they do get along after all.

I'm excited by the new blood on the staff. Will it work? Who the F knows until September?

At least these changes seem to make more sense than not.

Recruiting better and retaining guys once here is the real key.
