THE RENEWALS ARE HERE, THE RENEWALS ARE HERE!!

Since Brian previously referenced "The Jerk" I figured it was fair game...and since it was on the front of the board yesterday, figured it was enough of an event to post again!

Got mine via email a few minutes ago.  $1820 for 4 seats in Section 20 (doesn't have the same "zip" as Section 1, now does it?).  Deadline is May 16th.  Interesting points:

You can order extra end zone season tickets (which I don't think we've had that option, but is now available)

Ordering seat cushions will be via separate order to "Wolverine Seats."

Away game opps for PSU, Iowa and Northwestern, all at $70 per ticket.

Does anyone know where to apply for student-season tickets? Maybe a dumb question but I'll be a freshman and both of my alumni parents just keep telling me to call Dave Brandon. Not terribly helpful.

April 22nd I thought was for returning students, pretty sure when I got my tickets as a freshman this year it was processed in June.

On that note though, turn them in ASAP, with a seating group if you want, for the best row as I think it's done in order of submission for new students. Not that seat location matters that much.

I'm seriously considering buying a pair of season tickets this year for the first time. As I am not an alum and haven't owned season tickets in the past I'll be starting for square one. I'm curious as to what I should expect in terms of seat placement and what not. Any insight whatsoever as to what I should expect year one and moving forward would be much appreciated.

Unless you've already been a big donor.  It's all a matter of priority points, based upon giving to the athletic department and to the university.

Priority points for the 2013 football season were determined as of Feb. 1, 2013.

You can always call the Victors Club to see what can be done but that's generally how it works.

However, if you call the AD and sweet talk them, you might get offered 2 in the end zone, half way up.  Just a guess on my part though.

You will not know until everyone else that had priority points in January get their seat assignments.  Those seats are assigned in July.

...no chance.  The deadline for donations to be considered for this years tickets was a few weeks ago.  Now, next year MAY be a different story.  Even if you are an alum, $500 alone is not going to cut it.  I would call and nicely ask what the point cut off was this year.  It doesn't mean it will be the same next year, but will provide some insight.  Also, if your employer matches charitable donations (like mine does), do not hesitate to use this method.  It worked for me!

I think I put my name on the list in 2004 or 2005. It took 3 or 4 years until I even got offered the oppertunity to get tickets and it happened the same year I graduated (I assume because I got priority points from graduation). But as others have said, it's all based on priority points. If you donate $100,000 you'll probably get tickets. If you donate $100, you probably won't get tickets. usually they offer people on the waiting list some sort of seat package (like 3 home games).

My bad. I was at work and didn't have time to post details/review insider policy.

But if someone decides to posts, decent content covering the impact of the following wolverines: McGary (2), GRIII (7?), Stauskas (18), and Albrecht (25).

Sorry, this is from memory and I'm only sure of Spike and McGary's ranking. Obviously, McGary's tournament performance catapulted him to the (near)top. GRIII minus his Feb swoon got him to the top 10. Stauskas' wing play and 3 pt % had him at 18. And of course, Spike's first half in the title game and Upton heat check got him in the top 25.

Also of note, other B1G frosh:

Gary Harris (3)
Sam Dekker (10?)
Yogi Ferral (24)

Arrived at 1:34 p.m. ET

There's babbling about going paperless, and the renewal "fee" will be reduced from $25 to $15 (shakes fist at leeches hanging off my wallet).

So they "save you" $10 by going paperless.  I've had season tix since 2009 and the fee each year was $10.  They raise the fee and then tell us that we are getting a discount.

FWIW I ididnt get mine either via email so I just now went on line to look at my account and the renewal page wouldnt load.  My guess is the poor servers weren't quite ready for the volume of activity they are getting right about now.

All in the same week.

Though I haven't gotten any notification yet.

Though what's the rush? My seat doesn't change if I pay for it today or if I pay for it in 3 weeks.

Edit: Got mine. They got theirs. Also got an email from the MSU athletic department. Not sure if someone's mailing list got crossed. I'm not sure if I should remove myself or keep it for shits and giggles.

I love IT guys.  I guarentee you that somewhere there is a room of SHOCKED system support specialists that are scratching their heads in amazement at the volume of activity on the MGOBlue.com website right now and trying to figure out what to do.

WindyCityBlue

...gets you 20 points.  Being a non-alum and donating just $500 (which as you mentioned gets you 5 points) is not going to cut it.  I know lots of alum who have donated more than $500 and have not gotten tickets.  You can certainly overcome not being an alum by...donating more.

Just trying to level set the poster.

My uncle called the michigan office and they told him that everyone that donated 500 last year got tix I hope that's true on what they told him and hearing that a lot of people are dropping their tix since prices are going up and it's cheaper just to buy the games you want and that you can't make your money back unless you go to games like Akron and bowling green etc have to sell the good games

My renewal only had the option for away games to PSU, NW and Iowa.  I only have about 250 points but looking to get a couple in the UM section at Moo.  Anyone know how many points you have to have to get tickets?
