Red Sox manager Alex Cora pulls team off field after Yankee fan throws ball at Alex Verdugo
At least shots weren't fired.
I'm not defending the dumbass fan that threw at him, but imagine being a notorious cheater who got off Scott free and leaving the field in a huff because someone threw an object at someone else.
Edit- my point has been wildly misrepresented here, but to be fair those that pointed out that it was not relevant were right. Then I was attacked for an unrelated but, I felt, fair post, and lashed out in response.
Maybe consider the role a vitriolic response plays in these situations in driving further vitriol, you see it constantly on this board. Person makes maybe unrelated or slightly incorrect point, gets firebombed, has no choice but to fight back, gets further firebombed, etc.
Have you ever gotten hit by a baseball? They actually really hurt.
And compared to cheating its nothing, your point? I love how mad this made you all.
How many lives were put at risk by cheating? A baseball can serious injure or kill someone.
This is the most apples-to-oranges comparison ever.
BTW - It’s “scot free” not Scott free.
It was autocorrect, also that's a minute thing to correct someone on lol
I'm not defending BUTTT. May be the second dumbest post I've seen today
Haven't seen the post you say is worse. Don't want to. And can't get this out of my memory.
Go ahead and point out where I defended the fan, dumbass. Oh wait, I didn't, I pointed out the context of their manager being a POS.
Other than pulling his team off the field in protest of an opposing fan’s terrible behavior, which I say is points in his favor, the manager has nothing to do with this. So please step off the soapbox you chose to mount, as it is not even tangentially related to the current subject.
So if I can take the liberty to interpret what your gripe is, you are basically saying that because 2 current MLB managers were implicated, investigated, and then punished by MLB for their roles in the Astros trash can scandal, those two shall never be allowed to defend their players and to look out for the safety of their players, while for the vast majority of others, it's OK for them?
Can we then apply those same restrictions to Tony LaRussa because he's a dangerous POS who drinks and drives, something much worse that cheating in the minds of most people? And what dirt can we dig up to apply to yet other managers so that they're not allowed to stand up for their players?
Cora was completely in the right by pulling his team from the field and I would expect him to do so if it ever happens again.
Lol at least learn something about baseball before posting. I'm a die-hard Yankees fan, and hate Cora a lot, but Verdugo was never on a team that got accused of sign stealing. He's always been a good guy to fans, just a completely different situation
I was talking about Cora, genius, lmao
This is stupid in multiple ways. Try to be better
Lol yeah God forbid I call out a known cheater.
I heard Californianobody wants to play in a developmental league in Bolivia. We should send him.
LOL this blog should never change. God forbid I point out Cora is a POS.
God forbid you just stop responding. You made your point. Everyone seems to think it’s dumb and irrelevant. If everyone disagrees with you, it’s possible that you’re a genius and everyone else is wrong, but it’s not likely. Now move on.
My point was clearly misrepresented, and I felt the need to correct that. Clearly it was swimming upstream but that's how it goes.
If anyone misrepresented your point, it was you. In fact, you are literally the only person who could have misrepresented your point, as you are the one who made it - or attempted to - which sounded a lot like "the fan shouldn't have thrown the ball, but it's understandable that someone threw a ball at Verdugo b/c his manager is a cheater."
Your logic is... flawed.
Dude it's not that you called Cora a piece of shit. Most people probably don't care about that.
Its the fact that you did it while acting like a twat.
Nah, it's that this blogs patrons are pathetic and get off by jumping down people's throats for reasonable opinions lol
+1 Informative
And we are just pointing out the same about you. Take your negs with some dignity.
Can I throw a baseball at you? It’s a small object so it won’t really hurt.
The pope throwing a baseball at someone would assuredly not hurt, so sure.
Wait, does the Pope get to warm up his arm first?
I got a mean 4 seamer…learned it from the Cardinals.
Underrated comment.
Very underrated comment.
infallible comment
Heavenly.
Among the worst posts ever. WTF? If that hit him in the head he could be seriously hurt. SMH. People throw balls back on the field all the time but they make sure it's nowhere near anyone. And they should ejected too for doing it regardless.
You don't seem to popular around here, bro. You should probably leave and not come back.
CaliforniaNobody. Look at the very first reply you responded to. There was nothing in the least vitriolic in his statement. You were the one spoiling for a fight and escalated things and it was not in response to being firebombed.
Be a man (or a woman), stop making excuses and blaming others for your poor behavior and try to do better in the future.
I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.
Lifelong Yankee fan and Red Sock hater here...yeah, this is a really bad take, and you should feel bad. If you'd ever been hit by a baseball you'd know just how doubly awful your thoughts on this are. We have an epidemic of fans crossing the line--in Europe, it's racist garbage, and in Mexico, homophobic garbage. Everywhere, people fighting over sports and attacking athletes on social media. Here, we increasingly have fans actually attacking players physically. And your answer is, "Well, Cora's a cheater"? Wow...
California Nobody's edit in TLDR form: whine, gaslight, nag, cry, cry, cry
I'm rooting for the meteor here
Well, at least something exciting happened.
Regardless of my dislike for the Yankees, fans should not be doing this. I’m surprised he didn’t get rejected
Only CaliforniaNobody got rejected.
Bazing!
I'm late to the party but he's officially been banned for life from all 31 MLB parks.
I’m happy it hear that. Thank you PSM
Which has always been weird to me.... they dont check ids when you give em tickets at the gates,do they ? . You settle it by letting the guy on the field for 3 minutes ,see if they are man enough then ....
That’s terrible. How bad must your character be to think that hurting a fellow human being—-if you weren’t also a bad thrower—is a reasonable thing to do?
If I threw a baseball at someone on the street, I’d be more than ejected—or rejected—I’d be arrested.
