Recruit You're Most Excited About
Every year through out the recruiting process I latch onto a few guys that I really like, and really root for to come to Michigan. Guys I think I can make a huge impact, and guys I will follow closely throughout their career.
That being said, I like all of our recruits; and I hope they all have great careers.
FWIW, my favorite guys this year:
1. Thomas Rawls (really rooting for him, and have been all year)
2. Antonio Poole
3. Chris Bryant
And just incase anyone cares, a few of my favorites from the last few years.
2010:
Demar Dorsey, Marvin Robinson, Josh Furman
2009:
Denard Robinson, Teric Jones, Fitz Toussaint
2008:
Boubacar Cissoko, Marcus Witherspoon, Michael Shaw
EDIT- Minor spelling issue

I know everyone loves Rawls, and while I am very excited for him, I can't wait for Justice Hayes at RB (and recruiting)

The list of counterexamples is so long it isn't worth bothering to illustrate just how dumb this post is.

If he ever breaks the lineup on offense, maybe that he's a talented player who worked his ass off. The kid hasn't even stepped on campus and you're already talking shit about him. This is his dream school, and he worked hard to be eligible so he could play here. Give the kid a break.
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
"If Rawls ever breaks the lineup on the offensive side of the ball that means Rich Rod wasnt only neglecting the defense, but the offense too."
That statement is total bullshit. You're preemptively taking away credit from Rawls by saying that if he breaks the lineup, it'll only be because of a lack of talent ahead of him, and not because of his talent and hard work. It's one thing to think a kid is overhyped, but it's total bullshit to take away credit from a kid before he even sets foot on campus.

This one started well, but ended very badly. Overall, definitely worse than your first thought you shared with us. By worse, I mean stupid.

Sounds like someone needs a hug.
February 2nd, 2011 at 7:58 PM ^
And now you've edited it so I look like an even bigger douche than usual.
February 2nd, 2011 at 7:58 PM ^
Guys I think I can make a huge impact?
Antonio Pool.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
Why must you post such a generic answer....
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:58 PM ^
Why must you be annoying as fuck in every thread I look at?
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
Just because negs are down right now doesn't mean you should post stupid stuff like this.

Cissoko, eh? FWIW, my guy this year is Chris Bryant. I just think the kid will be special. The next first round offensive lineman from Michigan? He's got a chance.

Mr. Lewan would like to have a word with you...
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:04 PM ^
That's the interesting part, seeing who pans out and who doesn't. I never said all would be home runs. Just guys I was interested in and followed while they were here. Marcus Witherspoon and Dorsey didn't work out either, and that's an understatement.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
cant wait to see him in action...
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:01 PM ^
Excited for Rawls and Hayes on offense and Poole on defense.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
Too generic. Sorry, we have people on here who think they can tell people what to post. Just the way it is.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
You're acting like a 4 year old.

Stop typing. Seriously.

This year it's tough for me, probably because I'm not sure what the O or D will look like with the coaching transition.

I do like the class as a whole though, I think Hoke and co did an amazing job keeping RRs guys and adding quite a few of their own.

If I had to pick I would say I'm more excited about the LBs Poole and Jones than anything. Can't wait to see some improved LB play.

Hayes and Rawls should be fun to watch in the future IMO

Brennen Beyer.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:17 PM ^
This is too generic.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
I'm sorry. Let me elaborate to fit your standards. Brennen Beyer is the recruit I'm most excited about because he has good size and attacks at the point of attack. He also is athletic for a defensive end and never gives up on the play. There, happy now? Good, I don't really care.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:34 PM ^
Don't really care what you think about Brennan Beyer.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
You mean Brennen?
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:38 PM ^
Sure.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^

Oh, look..I just posted another generic comment. Sorry.

I don't neg much, but you are now on my initial neg on site list once the system is running again. See you then!
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
Maybe it's just the excitement from today's committment talking, but . . . Barnett. Dude looks like quite the specimen and we haven't had a great season from a tight end since Joppru in '02.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
I agree with Poole being a key guy. I guess whoever contributes the most to the team's effort and represents Michigan the best are the obvious but unknown guys. It's hard to know who that might be until their here a couple years. I love recruiting, but draft day grades to me are puzzling. The results are usually seen 2-4 years later.
That said, a nice tailback, a linebacker and a safety that compete at a really high level from this group would make a nice impact. That kind of assumes the offense and defensive line play is outstanding, which is asking a lot. I can't help but think how exciting it was to watch Jake Long dominate defenses and create so many opportunities for Mike Hart and Chad Henne.
I am excited and curious at the same time to see how this plays out next fall.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:13 PM ^
but I've been impressed with the way this class has shaped up. I'll admit I was a little worried with what would happen because of the cc, but Hoke & company did a great job. Looking forward to the spring game and next fall. GO BLUE
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:13 PM ^
can't just be excited about 1recuirt.I like Russell Bellomy,Justice Hayes,Thomas Rawls,Chris Barnett,Chris Bryant,Beyer,Kellen Jones,Antoine Poole,Frank Clark,Blake Countess,Greg Brown,Matt Wile,also every other player we signed.GO BLUE!!!

Dee Hart and Kris Frost.
Oh wait. Nevermind.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:17 PM ^
In the State of Alabama? I think you're on the wrong site....
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
My past two favorites were Stephen Hopkins and Denard Robinson. Hopefully I can make it 3 for 3 by picking Kellen Jones as my favorite recruit this year who's good enough to get significant playing time next and could eventually become a star.
February 2nd, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
Rawls - because I just want him to succeed so badly
Kellen Jones - he is an impressive hitter and has a knack for getting to the quarterback
Barnett - we have sent tight ends to the NFL who were nothing like the talent this kid has
Beyer - Craig Roh 2.0
