In response to a lot of guff posted on his twitterz:

will mean Weaver's post will never get much run--

But it's nice to see a measured take from a Harbaugh commit who was given unpalatable information, and took evasive action.

I wish Rashad the best wherever he plays, and commend him for self-efacing candor.

Please just end this recruiting period. NSD cannot come any slower. Only 219 days until football season. Oh wait...219?!?!?!?!?!

Compared to how I felt in the middle of our 5-7 season under Hoke, I don't feel bad at all.  For all of you who think we were non-controversial and the media didn't hate us then, just harken back to the Shane Morris Concussion-Gate scandal.  Losing to every team we played AND being in the middle of a scandal.

Our situation today is dealing with optics and understanding that Harbaugh is a polarizing guy.  First world problems.

I certainly don't think it neds to go quite THAT far, even though like others I am pretty weary of the constant 24/7 barrage of recruiting news myself. To be fair to the OP, the Rashad Weaver thread posted before (last night, in fact) is now some 350 posts large and this tidbit probably would get lost and / or eventually posted as a separate thread anyway.

I appreciate Weavers attempt to walk back his original tweet, but he and everyone else knew it was going to start a storm when he posted his passive-aggressive decommitment tweet.  I'm not blamming the kid for being a irked, but let's not pretend he didn't know what he was doing.

That is true...teenagers do dumb things.  Posting the decommitment tweet with the language he did was dumb.  Like I said, I appreciate him walking it back. Even though it all could have been avoided by saying something like....

"I have decided to decommit from Michigan and open up my recruitment.  Things didn't work out, but I respect the Michigan staff and all they have done.  I will be making my decision of which school I am signing with public on national signing day.  God Bless"

That would have been the smart way to go about it, but these are teenagers.  And some of these teenagers have very little parental guidance to help them through these kind of situations.  If Weaver is my son, I advice him to handle this situation a bit differently.  Not saying he is bad kid.  I think he is a good kid, who handled a situation kind of poorly with the original tweet....and then tried to fix it.  I wish him luck and hope he lands at the right school for him.
