With Patterson eligible, it’s debatable that this team is more talented than the 2016 team led by Jabrill. Sept. 1 -- at Notre Dame Sept. 8 -- Western Michigan Sept. 15 -- SMU Sept. 22 -- Nebraska Sept. 29 -- at Northwestern Oct. 6 -- Maryland (Homecoming) Oct. 13 -- Wisconsin Oct. 20 -- at Michigan State Oct. 27 -- Bye Week Nov. 3 -- Penn State Nov. 10 -- at Rutgers Nov. 17 -- Indiana Nov. 24 -- at Ohio State

It all comes down to OSU. I think it will every year. In my mind, Michigan is more talented than every team in their first 11 games. Need to win those. The Game this year will come down to being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Just fucking taking it to those bucknutz and winning one for the boys.

When the offense is abysmal, and it was so bad last year, it drains the team. There are no big plays to feed off of, no energy built up. The defense always has to answer the bell, and a 3 and out or turnover, or big sack or great play is needed to stay in the game, rather than shut the door. Give this defense some points, and some confidence that even in difficult games the offense will get in the end zone, and I think both sides play better. Close game, Patterson gets them a TD, and now a Gary sack fumble shuts the door.

should be an improvement of what we had last season. If this team can score 20 to 30 points a game, our defense is so dominate, we should win most games.

Toss up games @ND, @MSU, @ OSU. Tough games we should win PSU, WI @ NU.  I think if we beat ND we'll end up 10-2, losing probably at OSU and may be at home against WI or on the road against NU. If we lose to ND, I see us going 9-3. Though the wild card will be how well our starting QB plays and if our OL shows improvement. If both QB and OL improve to typical Michigan levels, we could win 11 or 12 games if our D is truly as dominate on the field as it is on paper. I like having a great D, and it gives us a chance to win this conference.
