"Positive News" re: Zinter

Angelique asked about him after the game, and coach Moore said they had just gotten off the phone with family, and it was positive news, and he'd be ready to go "down the road." Let's hope "down the road" includes the CFP. But even if not, great news for the young man:

I am still processing.  After his injury, I thought we were done.  The fact that the team responded so well is just amazing.

I hope the kid is ok.  Great player and will make it at the next level.

Good to hear. I was pretty worried; when someone has a knee injury and gets rushed to the hospital immediately, it often means there is concern for an arterial injury. If that happens, the distal musculature can lose perfusion and will die if not emergently treated. We’ve seen careers end this way before. Hoping Zinter is OK.

Edit: some are reporting a tib/fib fracture. He's done at Michigan, but it's much better news for him. I thought it looked like his knee.

I'm actually a little choked up typing this.. The fact that the team rallied around this moment, ripping off 10 straight points, just shows the love this team has for one another.

This injury broke my heart, and not just because I was remembering Grant Newsome’s final play at Michigan Stadium.  It was because when his family was brought out on the field, my immediate reaction was that Jim Harbaugh should have been there, in the moment, as the leader he is.  Fuck the Big Ten, fuck the NCAA, and most of all, fuck Ohio.
