I met his Aunt and Uncle in the stands, decked from head to toe in Maize and Blue (Aunt Maize, Uncle Blue, respectively). Uncle had a 38 jersey and a hat with 38 and Rawls' name on it and so on. They were taking it to extremes. Great folks. They were thrilled to see him get in. I told them that Fred Jackson says he's better than Mark Ingram and they laughed and said that he's really good, but Jackson also says Toussaint is Chris Perry but faster.

I like them!

Don't understand the point in burning a redshirt for rawls for 2 meaningless carries, and garbage time for taylor.  I'm a bigger fan of giving a hard working walk-on garbage time.  However, if either Rawls or Taylor end up playing meaningful snaps later this year I will eat these words.  Forgive me not liking the chances of that happening though.

are capable. Nobody else in the backfield is getting it done right now (Denard excluded). They need a third back. Gotta have it. Even if he doesn't play, they need a third back ready to go. a guy that can bull for two twice in a row yards when that's exactly what the defense expects can play. I don't trust any of the other guys to get that done consistently.

Surprised about burning Rawls' redshirt for 2 plays, especially given the depth at RB this year. Even if he improves throughout the year, he would still likely be the #4 RB.

1: Touissant (isn't injured yet, and it would be stupid to make a decision because you're assuming someone will be hurt) 1A: Smith (size is irrelevant) 3: Shaw (had some good runs in the WMU game, but oddly disappeared the last few games) 4: Rawls So even if he overtakes Shaw, or Touissant gets hurt, he's still #3. The only reason I could see for burning it would be that the coaches want him for Hopkin's short yardage role, and are more confident that Rawls wont fumble. Even that is unlikely, imo.

I think the coaches are trying everything they can to find a" number 1" RB.  We just can't have Denard carry us all the time.  Honestly though, I feel like it's partly our D's fault.  We seem to start slowly, and require our O to open up to get us back in the game.  I would have prefered that we just went I form late in the EMU game to get practice, and not worry about extra points.

They burned Rawls because they need for someone to emerges as a power back. I think it could be him, he pounded the rock well today. Vincent Smith made me very happy as well though.

We have depth issues and a Mega Class coming in next year. They might as well get some experience now before being thrown in under B1G game pressure.  Most of these freshman are Hoke's kids, he might have promised them early playing time. Whatever the reason, it really doesn't matter.

With the depth at RB and particularly at CB, I'm more interested in some freshmen getting PT and much less worried about whether some of these guys have have eligibility four years from now.  More so given that we're potentially bringing in several corners next year.
