Michigan is a very young team this year who had to replace 11 drafted players from a year ago, plus others who graduated but didn’t get drafted. 2018 was always going to be a season that took awhile to really get going, since so much youth is being counted on, including a great deal of freshmen. OP needs to relax. This is what happens sometimes when you lose a ton of players off of one team.
Unrelated to today, really, but Michigan is likely to have two players selected relatively highly in the MLB draft in Jaskie and Lugbauer (though Jaskie is going to go a good bit before Lugbauer). Could see guys like Lamb, Slater, Hendrickson and Brdar go at some point on Day 3 of the draft as well.
Although they haven't sent (or produced) many football recruits to Michigan recently, as Ace noted, they are pretty traditionally a baseball power. Notable DC guys who went on to star at Michigan include Patrick Biondi and Alan Oaks (Oaks was the one who hit the walkoff bomb to beat David Price/Vanderbilt as a freshman about a decade ago, and then became a pretty good starting pitcher by his senior year).
If you think this is bad, it's far worse in baseball. A 2021 (8th grader!!) committed to Mississippi State recently. Several 2020's are already committed, and it gets worse the older you go. Collegiate coaches are extending offers to younger and younger prospects at an alarming rate.
If Hill wants to come to Michigan to compete, let him. Great. Wonderful. I still think O'Korn would start over him, but having someone capable of truly starting as a backup/competition would be nice
Super talented baseball player as well. Was considered a potential first rounder in June before he opted not to enter the MLB draft. Have seen some speculation that he could be transferring to a junior college for the sake of playing baseball this spring, then being eligible for the 2016 draft. We should know more very soon
Generally, I'd agree with you, but O'Day is going to get PAID. Would guess something like 3 years/27 million, and I'm not a big fan of signing relievers to longer than 2 year deals. It worked for the Tigers with Benoit but the success rate overall on those deals is not very high.
They traded a future utility infielder--who is still 2+ years away--for a good reliever. Even if K-Rod is the new set up man and they go get someone else to close, the trade is a good one.
Jake Ryan got a mountain of hype during bowl practice when he was redshirting. Obviously that turned out to be correct chatter, but there was a ton of it.
Engelmann has a chance to be special. 1st round pick-type special. One of the toolsiest players I can remember Michigan baseball having. If the bat comes along, he could be an All American.
Kyler Murray could have also been a first round pick in baseball had he chosen to pursue that route. An absolute freak athlete, even amongst other freak athletes.

Advice on moving to Houghton:
Don't
Hill, Bruder, Ramsay are seniors and will be gone. Benedetti is likely gone, Adcock/Wenson are maybes.
