PFF's Top 10 2024 QB Draft Prospects--and you won't believe who is at #7
JJ is at #8. Probably a good ranking for him. But what has the guy at #7 done to even be in the Top 10? Maybe that he can throw it 73 yards, and the NFL likes a strong armed QB? IDK. Do you?
Him being at #7 has got to be based solely on "upside".

Shedeur Sanders should probably be in the Top 10. Certainly he's better than Joe Milton. One scouting site does have him there at #6. The same site has JJ at #9.
This is their scouting report on him. They have a concern about him that I have, protecting the ball. But he has this season to improve on everything and move up as a Draft prospect.
Anyway, back to Joe Milton. Is he going to be THAT good? Maybe Josh Heupel is a QB whisperer.
This year will say much about Milton. It will also go far in saying who can develop qbs better Harbaugh or Pruitt. If Milton tears it up, I'm going to be asking why Harbaugh couldn't get that out of him and Pruitt could.
Pruitt hasn't been with Tennessee since 2020...
Good for Joe!
The irony is that the JJ is the guy who beat out the guy McNamara who beat out the guy Milton.
Penix at 3 is the outlier.
Controversy = clicks. Very smart of ON3 to rate Milton above JJ, they knew the fanbase would react
It's a PFF rating posted on On3.
Bo Nix stinks and Joe Milton is overrated.
I think JJ should be 3rd behind Williams and Penix.
That’s my take FWIW which ain’t much.
Penix can’t go number 2, only number 1
Let's hypothetically say Milton does blow up and he becomes a top pick. Even if that were happen, there is no way UM had the time and patience needed to develop that player into becoming a great QB.
Sometimes the time it takes the player is not at all close to the time frame the team needs.
I wish him the best and it would be great. But this isn't ever going to be a "one that got away" story.
-1 for the clickbait title. Treat us with some respect FFS.
It's truth, not clickbait.
But I'll read your explanation why you say it is.
The title?
It's definitely clickbait.
Can you describe why?
"...and you won't believe who is at #7"
Ok, why is that clickbait?
You would believe it before seeing it?
Pretty much by definition, clickbait is a headline or title designed to entice the viewer/reader to click.
And yes, you already know this.
I didn't downvote you because of the clickbaityness of the thread title, though---you earned that by the overkill on making the OP about putting Milton down.
We all look at things differently.
The glass is half full.
The glass is half empty.
That's all this is.
The only reason I made this post is because Joe Milton is at 7. If I had asked everyone yesterday if they would believe that PFF would put Joe Milton at #7 for 2024 Draft QB prospects, no one would believe it.
I know it is shocking but things can be more than one thing simultaneously.
How might Joe Milton have performed down 3 touchdowns in the CFP semi-final last year?
Based on what I've seen of him it's seems to me much more likely that Michigan loses that game by 30 than gets within a touchdown of TCU.
Some of the guys on this list have been playing college football for a long tim. At what point does age become a factor in where they get drafted? Penix is 2/3 of the way up the hill…
Milton has one of the strongest arm ever played the game. He was thrown into a situation when he was clearly not ready during the COVID season that we all want to forget. He got better since then although played mostly as a back-up. The real question is what he can do next season as a full time starter in those big games.
there's been lots of QBs that can throw 73 yards.
Are you implying that the Milton prediction is all hype and not much substance? Can I get your thoughts on Colorado football again?
Joe Milton is ahead of JJ looool
As other have said, JJ should be higher on the list.
I would also have Jayden Daniels on the list above Milton. My only worry about Daniels is that he's going to be broken in half on every play.
Joe Milton is in the perfect offense for Joe Milton. I have no idea who they have coming back at WR but if they have a poor man's Jalin Hyatt or two to run wide open deep downfield, that's a QB's dream.
Whether that makes him a draftable pro or not is another question, but he's going to put up some numbers this season.
Milton seems to fit their offense pretty well. I still don't think he's very accurate, but he'll put up better numbers than JJ because of the difference in offense.
Ewers seems like a recruiting thing because he was an average QB last year. I can see him improving though.
Sanders is confusing to me though. What has he done to be thought of so highly besides play for Deion. Maybe he'll be great next year, but so far he has just played bad FCS competition.
Milton has a cannon for an arm...
but it's better suited for a battlefield than a football field.
Joe Milton has a positive attitude, built like a tank, and can sling it. He will be in the NFL, not surprised at all.
Milton is there for the same reason as Anthony Richardson- no real measure of success or stats, but he's big, can run, and has a big arm. Period.
I missed the run part.
"Period"
Well that's the end of this discussion
So if Joe Milton is a high draft pick, can we claim him like OSU "claim's" Joe Burrow and Jameson Williams?
JJ is 3 years younger than Milton and this list will look very different after the season is over.
If Joe Milton wins an NFL game as a starting QB I will get a tattoo of Phillip Fulmer
Nothing like good old fashioned SEC bias for you. Milton can ball, and I hope he gets drafted, but I'd much rather have JJ than anyone on the list.
Milton is on this list because he is the presumed starter in an offense known to be conducive to putting up stats. JJ is not higher on this list because he is not.
I don't get shitting on the young man...
I take a more positive view...
Harbaugh knows QB potential but Milton was probably just not ready at UM (and Harbaugh saved the program by moving on to Cade). I assume Milton has matured and improved and put himself in a strong position going into next season. Hope he kills it in the SEC.
Being the starting QB at a top tier, historic program like UM is a bigger stage than most ever step on over their lifetime...and these are young men at widely varying degrees of maturity.
JJ needs to bulk up to be a top prospect. QBs under 200 pounds are big injury risks in the NFL.
I have my doubts that Milton has the ability to dissect a complicated defense and make the most optimum throws, as would be required in the NFL. Jury is still out but he was not good at that while at Michigan. Maybe he's improved while at UT? My guess is JJ would be a better NFL QB than Milton, but what the hell do I know?
