Who would you like to see play another sport?

I always wondered how any athlete would perform in another sport other than the sport that made them famous/popular.

Gordie Howe as a boxer.

Tom Brady as hockey player.

etc....

Have fun............

In the absence of about a decade of intense training in wrestling, boxing/kick boxing, and jujitsu or at least some muy Thai fighting he’d be an easy out for any skilled fighter.  With rare exceptions, most hoops players who get in actual fights look like they are swinging purses at each other.

yikes.

iverson remains the toughest sonofabitch i ever saw on the court.  i don’t care about his ‘efficiency,’ i just know that, in his prime, there was nobody - and i mean nobody - that could win games, on his own, by sheer force of will.  the team he took to the finals started george lynch, eric snow, tyrone hill, and theo ratliff, plus what was left of dikembe mutumbo.  michael jordan couldn’t take that team to the finals.  iverson did, though.

I have this argument frequently living in the Hampton Roads area of VA.  Hell AI & I probably have less than 3 degrees of separation(even though I've never met him).  The people I tend to deal with seem to think he is the best PG of all time even though he never averaged above 10apg much less lead the league.  Did he even average 8apg? He won a couple of scoring titles while being an offensive black hole.  As I type this I am just now remember how the trade for AI was the true downfall of the Pistons.  People tend to forget that the team he "willed" to the Finals had the COY(Larry Brown), the DPOY(Mutombo), and the 6thMOY(George Lynch).  I would think that a team with that kind of hardware is more than a bunch of "nobodies".  Give me Isiah Thomas 6 days a week and twice on Sundays!!

Iverson's HS football highlights are fun to watch. To the OP's question, I'd like to see how Iverson would do in soccer (with some preparation runway). I feel the same about hundreds of high-level football and hoops guys. I think they could displace some people on the national team.

Sticking to Michigan, I can think of a couple of guys (Richard Rellford, Albert White) who might've been good flex TEs.

agreed, iverson would dominate.

re soccer, game over if the us ever took it as seriously as the rest of the world.  im no soccer fan but picture thousands of the countrys best athletes loving it since birth.

guys like iverson or deion sanders would score almost at will, very few would ever get past bo jackson or sean taylor and a freak like lebron or randy moss in goal?

the top athletes in other major sports would displace most of the national team if they all grew up focusing on soccer.  us has some good athletes playing soccer but tyreek hill with a soccer ball on a string would be terrifying

chaundee brown at any number of positions on our football team.  dude is jacked for a hoops player and is obviously an A+ athlete.

Not sure about anyone else, but I wish that proposed Tony Mandarich vs. Mike Tyson match would've taken place. It's hilarious that he would even think about getting in the ring with Iron Mike. Would've been a bloodbath.

Back in high school we used to play flag football at a sports complex, one day Lindsey Hunter shows up and decides to play a little wideout in a pickup game. The flip phone videos of him running go routes were legendary.
