Submitted by Darker Blue on March 15th, 2023 at 6:28 PM

Hey MGoPeople,

Wondering what everyone is currently watching on the TV. Here's a list of things I've watched and think you should also watch.

  1. The Last Of Us. It was wonderful. Watch it
  2. The Leftovers - Another HBO show. This one was also pretty awesome. Definitely thought provoking.
  3. Narcos and Narcos Mexico - Finally got around to watching these gems. Both of them were fantastic in my humble opinion.
  4. The Queens Gambit - I was so bummed out that it was only 7 episodes. This show was amazing
  5. Barry - Season 4 in April. Bill Hader is awesome.
  6. Ted Lasso - The best thing on the TV right now.

Give me your lists and recommendations. What are you watching

As someone who lives on the Space Coast, I throughly enjoy The Expanse on Amazon.

As it is a plausible in the not-so-distant future, regarding space exploration, conceivable geopolitical policies, with a dash of noir in the beginning.

It will definitely strike a cord with fans of Sci-Fi shows, who enjoy a dash of hyper realistic physics and engineering feats.

Unless you have spent a considerable amount of time in New Orleans, with individuals who fluently speak Creole, you will want to have subtitles on at all times.

Peacemaker, The Last of Us, Shrinking, Narcos, Perry Mason, Barry, and Ted Lasso.

Although, I have been mostly watching history YouTube channels. Particularly, I have been watching the channel Sam Aronow's channel the details the history of Juidaism.

Another vote for Better Call Saul, especially if you were a fan of Breaking Bad. Great character development and shows a lot of backstory for many characters.

I also have been enjoying the Mandalorian, but I'm a Star Wars nerd. The protagonist is flawed, yet totally badass.

A friend works in DC.  Apparently the following are constantly streaming at the White House.

1. Golden Girls

2. Murder She Wrote  (includes Summerall intros)

3. Matlock

Check out American Auto on NBC.   A satire of a fictional Detroit auto company featuring a female CEO and a clueless family member of the founding family.   Sort of GM meets Ford.

The Terminal List on Amazon with Chris Pratt. Love military themed shows, season 2 has been confirmed and out soon as well.

Snowfall and BMF are excellent. Both are based on true stories with the former about the CIA importing drugs into urban areas that fueled the crack epidemic and the latter telling a tale of 2 Detroit brothers who parlayed a street empire into a music label.

Your Honor is Walter White reincarnated as a judge who breaks bad to save his son.

Took a while for someone else to mention it above, but I will second The Boys. It's an awesome critique of the superhero genre AND corporate America. Also: The Last of Us. I thought the first season of Avenue 5 was worth the watch. Too bad they cancelled it.

I haven’t seen anyone recommend the Bear on Hulu. That show is phenomenal. It’s so intense, but not horror movie intense. Friends who have worked in kitchen told me it nails the atmosphere at times.

Absolutely Ted Lasso.  Best show I have watched in years.  I also really enjoyed "Shrinking".  Loving the recommendations from this thread though.

Just gonna throw it out there if you're looking for TV that you may have missed on its first run. But every season of the show Fargo is its own story, unrelated to every other season and the movie, and each season is amazing. I highly recommend watching all of them.

Old Taggart episodes on Britbox.  I loved that show when it was running in the early 1990s, but it's a bit dated now.

The Queen's Gambit.  Really fun and Anya Taylor-Joy, well, I'm having heart palpitations.

I've gotten really into Suits. I'm sure the dialogue is not a very accurate representation of law firms, but it is still entertaining nonetheless.

My recent habits have me reading more in my downtime, lately, than watching new TV, but I am partial to reruns of Farscape, Poirot, Miss Marple with Joan Hickson, Cheers, Jeeves and Wooster, Newhart, Fraser, or occasionally watching Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner acting their asses off in an otherwise campy but charming Star Trek show. To have on in the background at work its JRE or Lex Fridman, or when I want something lighter its Who's Line, classic Jeopardy or Supermarket Sweep.

I just started “Shrinking” and it’s been pretty good so far. It stars Jason Segel and Harrison Ford as therapists. Jason Siegel’s character decides he’s done being a conventional therapist and becomes a self described “psychological vigilante”.
