OT: Thanksgiving Football

Submitted by VCavman24 on November 24th, 2022 at 1:16 PM

It's Thanksgiving today (Happy Thanksgiving to all!), which means it is time for some football!  Our Detroit Lions are tied, 7-7, with the Buffalo Bills (who interestingly have played a home game at Ford Field more recently than Detroit has) at the end of the first quarter.  The game is on CBS.

This afternoon, the Giants face off against the Cowboys on Fox, while tonight the Patriots travel to the Vikings on NBC.

Also at 2:00 p.m., Brazil takes on Serbia in the final opening World Cup game (a different type of football).  That game is on Fox.

Campbell gifted Buffalo those three points at the end of half by not taking the time to two minute stoppage.

That’s the dumb stuff that will get him fired, and justifiable so.

I really don't like Romo as an announcer. He's a complete bloviator. "That ball wouldn't have been caught anyway. But that's a penalty." If the ball wouldn't have been caught because it's uncatchable, then it's not a penalty, dumb ass.

The most Lions play call ever. Maybe when you have both your guards out, you don't have your statue of a quarterback stand in the end zone for 5 seconds.

Well that was a pathetic sequence. Swift drops a pass at the one, the Lions play for the field goal on 3rd and long, and then the kicker misses a chip shot. Why do I watch their games?

This is setting up for the classic Lions game where they punch above their weight and stay in the game against a much better opponent only lose it in the final minutes and then have the local sportswriters say how the defeat shows that they've turned a corner and we should have hope for the future. And then they suck for the rest of the season.
