OT: Thanksgiving Football
It's Thanksgiving today (Happy Thanksgiving to all!), which means it is time for some football! Our Detroit Lions are tied, 7-7, with the Buffalo Bills (who interestingly have played a home game at Ford Field more recently than Detroit has) at the end of the first quarter. The game is on CBS.
This afternoon, the Giants face off against the Cowboys on Fox, while tonight the Patriots travel to the Vikings on NBC.
Also at 2:00 p.m., Brazil takes on Serbia in the final opening World Cup game (a different type of football). That game is on Fox.

There's the turnover I expected!

Wisconsin up 1 over Kansas in OT in the Battle 4 Atlantis. On ESPN.
November 24th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
No great love for Wisconsin (especially basketball), but I almost always cheer against cheatin' Kansas. Go Badgers.

4 long runs for Allen. Same contain/lane integrity issues that have plagued Michigan recently
November 24th, 2022 at 1:35 PM ^
"recently" is an interesting choice of word to describe, oh I don't know, the last quarter century.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:23 PM ^
To me that is recently
November 24th, 2022 at 5:05 PM ^
Rumor that Allen is transferring to us. Do we want him ? Never seen him play.

as a Wolverine, I have been grateful for stream.mgocrazy.com this year.
now as a Bills fan, I am especially grateful today.
Thank you, whoever you are. You're a blessing.

This just in, the Lions don’t stink. There will be more growing pains but they’re competitive.
November 24th, 2022 at 1:58 PM ^
Yeah, the Lions actually have my hopes up this year. Guarded optimism though, as I've seen this picture before
November 24th, 2022 at 10:31 PM ^
With this game and the Seahawks, Lions could easily be 6-5 right now.
Crazy I know.
November 24th, 2022 at 10:45 PM ^
I'd say 7-4 because @ Vikings really should've been a win. The Lions gave away a double digit lead in the fourth quarter mainly because of poor coaching decisions.
November 25th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
Crazy that the Lions threw away 3 Ws.
^ 3 wins total for the season is a normal year.
November 24th, 2022 at 1:54 PM ^
Don't the Lions normally wear their throwbacks on Thanksgiving? I like those better than these.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:40 PM ^
I hate the all grey unis. They're even worse than Michigan's all whites look.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:11 PM ^
There certainly is something of a commie vibe surrounding the all-grey Lions' unis, comrade.
November 24th, 2022 at 1:54 PM ^
Hijacking the tread to say I really respect and love this blog. Happy thanksgiving to all.

Campbell gifted Buffalo those three points at the end of half by not taking the time to two minute stoppage.
That’s the dumb stuff that will get him fired, and justifiable so.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:00 PM ^
Oh give it a break. He is on a 3 game winning streak, and only down 3 at halftime to one of the best teams in the league.
All this on top of quite a lot of injuries.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:03 PM ^
Absolute atrocious clock management by Campbell at the end of the half. He could have easily used most of the clock.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:25 PM ^
Such a shit penalty. That ball was 5 yards behind Diggs and uncatchable.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:26 PM ^
I really don't like Romo as an announcer. He's a complete bloviator. "That ball wouldn't have been caught anyway. But that's a penalty." If the ball wouldn't have been caught because it's uncatchable, then it's not a penalty, dumb ass.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:27 PM ^
Ball don't lie.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:48 PM ^
makeup call. haven't thrown one on you all game
November 24th, 2022 at 2:32 PM ^
The most Lions play call ever. Maybe when you have both your guards out, you don't have your statue of a quarterback stand in the end zone for 5 seconds.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:41 PM ^
Egg Bowl at 8.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:44 PM ^
Jared Goff is one more really good wide receiver from being a great quarterback
November 24th, 2022 at 2:51 PM ^
Said every Lions fan since Gary danielson
November 24th, 2022 at 3:02 PM ^
And his name is Jameson Williams.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
Announcers curse cost the Lions 3
November 24th, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
Brutal.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
Well that was a pathetic sequence. Swift drops a pass at the one, the Lions play for the field goal on 3rd and long, and then the kicker misses a chip shot. Why do I watch their games?
November 24th, 2022 at 2:56 PM ^
This is setting up for the classic Lions game where they punch above their weight and stay in the game against a much better opponent only lose it in the final minutes and then have the local sportswriters say how the defeat shows that they've turned a corner and we should have hope for the future. And then they suck for the rest of the season.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
I dunno. They have a really easy schedule the rest of the way. If they somehow pull this one out...
November 24th, 2022 at 3:08 PM ^
Big stop ! Go Lions.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:14 PM ^
The Lions got the bad Goff on that drive.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:26 PM ^
And of course the Lions fucking blow it with a dumb-ass penalty. Of fucking course. But moral victory, right?
November 24th, 2022 at 3:26 PM ^
Was that roughing?
November 24th, 2022 at 3:28 PM ^
Yeah, you can't do that. Horrible penalty
November 24th, 2022 at 3:28 PM ^
Massive miss. Only down 3.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:29 PM ^
Dan Campbell gifting the Bills 3 points with his awful clock management at the end of the first half is now big.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
I just switched on to the soccer game for a moment and a Brazilian player scored on a bicycle kick - wow.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
Are they saving time outs for next week ?
November 24th, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
If Campbell could remove his head from his ass long enough to call a timeout, I would appreciate it.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
10 seconds off the clock before we call a timeout? What in the actual fuck?
November 24th, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
Does Campbell realize he has three timeouts? It's like he's just playing for OT.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:41 PM ^
I rescind my statement
November 24th, 2022 at 3:42 PM ^
You only need a yard. WHY ARE YOU THROWING IT LONG?!?
November 24th, 2022 at 3:42 PM ^
This clock management is very Harbaughesque.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:43 PM ^
Refs tried to save Campbell from himself but he wouldn't be deterred with that shit 3rd down call. Still.... GO LOINS!
