Wonder what toys they include in the happy meals in Tennessee

Source: Tennessee #Vols got sloppy with recruiting. They were handing recruits cash in McDonald's bags when they visited campus.

The NCAA has made it pretty clear they won't punish you for the crime as much as the stupidity you employed in committing them.  This is pretty high up there.

Good! Players should get paid and the useless NCAA doesn’t do anything to prevent this shit so who cares? If we choose not to do it or do it to the same extent because it’s against rules that nobody enforces then I suppose that’s our choice as a program and university. It’s illegal to jaywalk but police don’t enforce it so if you choose not to cross the street wherever you want then that’s up to you.

Why hand the bags to the recruits?  Just have the bag in a vehicle and when someone picks the recruit up and the recruit sees the bag, just say "finder's keeper!" Problem solved.

Tale as old as time. School's recruiting takes a significant uptick for no discernable reasons, wait 3-5 years, 'omg. turns out that school was paying players. can u believe it'.

Eventually Georgia will get busted too

I just read this and what a bunch of fucking idiots man. Handing out bags of $100 egg McMuffins. Wow. The real story is that had Pruitt managed to have a winning record then I guarantee you that this story would have never got out nor would he have been fired

This is the problem with the transfer portal.  All of these guys get a second cut at the cash.  If you're probably not at the guaranteed pro level, you're a dumbass to stay at your school, especially for grad transfers.

When I worked in Moscow in the 1990s, I had to pay my employees in cash. My bank was right next to a McDonald's, so every month I made a trip to the bank and exited with a McDonald's bag full of cash to make payroll. The bank insisted, since a big bag labeled "ING Bank" basically said "rob me."
