OT PSA Michigan weather

http://www.mlive.com/weather/index.ssf/2015/07/michigans_weekend_weathe… As I'm sure you are all aware this weekend is suppose to be a hot one here in Michigan... Just wanted to say make sure you keep little ones and pets safe and well hydrated. Make sure you drink some water with that alcohol too guys! With the heat index we are looking at 100 degree weather, so for the love of Harbaugh if you have an air condition use it! My lovely new starter home is absent of an air conditioner so I'm going back to my parents for the weekend. Just make sure you, your kids and your PETS have plenty of water, shade and a way to cool off! EDIT: also if you are in the care of an elderly person or love them dearly...Be it parent/ grandparent / inlaws (no matter how much you hate them lol) make sure they stay properly hydrated as they tend not to drink enough water and drink things like coffee and other diuretics.

After living in Florida for the last 4 years and moving back to Indiana 4 months ago, I think I can handle it. This is what Florida feels like every day in the summer.

It is absolutely beautiful in Chicago right now. Will probably heat up later though. For now though there is a nice breeze and a nice clear sky. Thank goodness for weekends.

Fortunately, the work I have to do on the house today is inside, although the hotter it gets, the less the air conditioning seems to do so it will suck all the same. Jogging might turn into a brisk walk, which I should probably begin, oh, now before it is too late. It's been a while since we've had a heat advisory, but they still are decidedly inconvenient.

Never understood outdoor dogs tbh... My pups kennel is right next to my bed. Rotties tend to be Velcro dogs and like to be close to their humans haha. But if you don't want them in your house at least let them into the basement were its cooler and protected from the sun!

measuring 64 degrees in the water outside the cottage... the best AC on the planet.  Coming from the NW where it's been crazy/historically hot this is the life.  Michigan is where it's at.

As soon as I post this... the rain starts...it's hard being a Michigan fan.

i have a lot experience with this. in fact it's been 95 or higher every day but 3 for the past 4 weeks straight with no signs of stopping. we never do anything outside during the day unless it's to get in a pool. even then it's for an hour at most. just stay inside.

Two suckage years.  High summer temps with higher humidity and every possible refreshing breeze stopped by the endless forest of pine trees.

Moved to Texas with bit higher temps (did 60 straight days of 100+ temps a couple of years ago), a bit lower humidity, and a near constant breeze to keep things from getting totally unbearable.

this a.m., but with thunderstorms now bearing down on this area, time to get some chores done a.s.a.p.

be safe.

I remember the heat warnings when I lived in Michigan.  I lived in Florida for 12 years and during the summers there, which lasted for about 5 months the temp was low to mid 90's everyday with heat indexes in the 100's, never got heat warnings there.  I live in South Carolina now and the temps are in the high 80's to mid 90's during the summer with heat indexes in the 100's and I've never heard of seen a heat warning here.  In Florida I do remember getting an occasional frost/freeze advisory in the winter, which I don't remember ever getting in Michigan. The way the houses in Florida are insulated, or not insulated, a big freeze could end up freezing water lines.
