OT: Ohio State Recruit Arrested While on Official Visit

Submitted by geewhiz99 on

Four-star wide receiver James Robinson was arrested last weekend by Columbus police while on an official visit to Ohio State and charged with one count of possession of marijuana, according to Franklin County Municipal Court records.

Robinson, a 6-foot-4, 207-pound wideout from Lakeland, Florida, was taken into custody at an off-campus apartment on the night of Jan. 21 and released later that evening. He returned to Florida the next day, but is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on March 1.

He told him his name and that he graduated bachelors from OSU then he asked the officer why are you doing this to me? He's thinking you know who I am where I went to school he paused so the officer would catch on. No luck, the officer says because I think you are impaired. He probably thought the officer was drunker than him. I think the best part was he could not finish the alphabet. Now that is a epiphany of being a Ohio State player back then, he couldn't lose to Michigan but he was beat by a the alphabet

"Now that is a epiphany of being a Ohio State player back then, he couldn't lose to Michigan but he was beat by a the alphabet"

Not normally the grammar police, and make lots of mistakes myself, but you can't mock and condescend to a school and player over inferior education while displaying embarrassing illiteracy, absolutely mangling the English language from multiple angles in your attack post!!!

The word you were looking for is epitome, but you'd have to write the epitome, not a epitome,

If you were using the word epiphany in some context where the word was appropriate, after you learn what it means first, & if you want to use it correctly, it would have be an ephiphany, not a epiphany.

It also should be an Ohio State player, not a Ohio State player.

"a the alphabet" Uhhh, you're not an Alpha at the alphabet either, I bet.

That's 3 strikes, plus one to grow on (in one sentence!), and you're out, but hey, you went down swinging anyway.

So, he was the only person associated with OSU football in possession of weed at an off campus apartment? Sounds like he was the fall guy. In other words, he got caught holding the bag.

But at this point weed is going to be legal in a majority of the 50 states within the next 10/15 years and probably country wide within 50. As long as you're staying put for the night and not driving it's no worse than alcohol. Now the Chris Carter "Buckeye Born and Bread" thing...that shit is hilarious.

Perhaps. But marijuana legalization is an essential component of ending mass incarceration and refucing the extent to which the criminal justice system has become a de facto replacement for Jim Crow.

Weed is far from the worst thing in the world. Arguably less dangerous than alcohol. I had more than my fair share of it in college, and at this point, I don't care who knows it. But the point is do it in a safe place where cops have no reason to walk through the front door.

This kid didn't do anything different that what many of us all did in college. But he was stupid enough to get caught. And he did it on an official recruiting visit. That's going to follow him wherever he goes, and he may have just gotten several of his offers pulled from other schools.

Just looking at the Gator board on 247. Most fans still want him. There are some posts on there apparently from his Twitter account where he throws OSU players under the bus and says they do a lot of drugs. I am not a Twitter guy and have no idea how to check the validity of a Twitter post. Just FYI.

Parents who still let their kids take official visits to OSU should be ashamed of themselves. Don't get me wrong I am all for legalization but as of today it's still illegal in Ohio and this kids parents allowed their child to go on a recruiting trip thinking there would be supervision, etc. them this happens. I mean what in the fuck? I would never send my hypothetical kid there while this staff was in place. Not a chance.

possession of marijuana? And arrested? That's insane. If he is a minor, a simple citation should suffice. If he's an adult, it shouldn't even be a crime. It's a bad habit, imo, but that shouldn't make it a crime. Police should be fighting real crime not victimless vices.
