OT: Justin Tucker hits an NFL record 66 yard field goal to beat Detroit

Holy cow. It bounced off the cross bar and went through. What a tough way to lose.

I'm starting to believe in the Lions a little though. Played a decent game against a good team

I not only watched it but I also remember seeing Alex Karras (on Johnny Carson, I believe) talking about it. He said the Lions were all laughing at how ridiculous they thought it was that NO was going to try it instead of a Hail Mary. He said he was just trying to get off to the side so he would have a good view. (Probably just trying to be funny but it could be true.)

Boomer said it was delay of game.  Phil Simms gave an explanation about referee mechanics that was not overly persuasive.  Seratore concurred with Simms that the back judge has to see the zero on the clock and then to see if the ball was snapped.  He also suggested that the Lions got a BJ by the BJ.

Looks like a blatant missed call to me, regardless of "referee mechanics".

HOWEVER, with Brown dropping 3 TD passes and Tucker missing a FG earlier in the game, it's tough to complain about Detroit getting a bad break.

FWIW, I also thought Detroit's time out before 4th and 19 was a mistake, giving Baltimore some more time to get set up. Baltimore was scrambling after Jackson was pushed OB on the Lions sideline on 3rd down for a 5-yard loss. The crowd was roaring. Why let the Ravens catch their breath?

Lions deserved to lose that game. Playing too conservative at the end hoping a field goal would win it. In the red zone try for a touchdown and put the game out of reach. When they played for a field goal I told my buddy they will leave too much time for Lamar and are going to lose on a last second field goal.

I don't know if I have ever seen anything so Lionesque and I have seen plenty.  Lions are restored to the glory of having given up the longest FG in NFL history.

Never ever rush three. You might as well rush zero.

Any coach that rushes three should be fired before the team gets to the lockers.

Beyond fucking stupid.

Shades of Colorado.

Am I the only one to notice that the Ravens should have gotten a delay of game penalty on the play before the field goal? It was at least 2 seconds past the expiration of the play clock before they snapped it. It would've made it a 71 yard field goal if the refs didn't screw the Lions over like they always do.

None of that would have happened had Campbell not stupidly only rushed three on 4th and 19. Jackson had all day to find someone deep.

LOL!!!  Had this all typed up...  Anyway, I called it - told the wife and kids that the Lions would let them move up for a long FG attempt to win, and it would be the most Lions way ever to lose a game.  LMAO!!

Had them at 4th & 19 with 20 seconds left, and gave it up to midfield.  Good Lord...

They played a good game, though, never quit on it.

Haha!!  I had a board post typed up for the game but saw this one before I posted it.  No need for multiple posts...

But since I did call the ending to my wife with 1:04 left, I'll say Michigan wins Saturday on the strength of its passing game and defense.

You saw it here first!!
