Jaren Jackson Jr, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the year and Freshman of the Year.
Same JJJ that is 0-2 vs Michigan and 1-1 in the NCAA tourney. He would have been an all american under JB. Instead, he sat on the bench and watched Ben Carter get 23 minutes.
this year he didn't look like any kind of dominant player. Good luck with that NBA thing, JJJ. Don't let the college basketball door hit you on the way out.
The guy averaged 3.0 blocks per game while playing only 21.8 minutes per. And he shot a shade under 40% from 3. He has insane potential. Fortunately for everyone else, Izzo decided he needed to pay his dues as a frosh.
I want to know who was advising this kid when he was at LaLu. He's too young to know any better, but any informed adult should have been able to tell him Izzo wants bigs who do grunt work. Not a shock Izzo's approach was to bench him, since he had no idea what to do with him.
Good luck to him but he's old
In basketball terms it's a no-brainer. He's in the top half of the lottery. His stock can't get any higher.
The only reasons to stay would be non-basketball related: if he loves college life, etc.
JJ Jackson, The Triple-J, one of the five original MTV VJs.
UM playing for an NC
JJJ going pro (right after Bridges and Miles)
More dirt on Izzo
Well gosh darnit, this is turning out to be a pretty good fucking day! Just one more thing I want to see, though...
I don't know about you, but I got two and one of them is Wagner announcing he'll stay one more year to win another national title!
Yes, I hope so too. But I hope he does it in German, so it's scarier...
Ich bleibe!!!
Yet another tough week for Izzo...
shame
And here I was thinking he could be persuaded to come back now that he has an opportunity for NCAA tournament playing time with Ben Carter graduating.
Izzo got ben carter's back up to be a lottery pick? talk about development
Wait didn't the beat reporters for MSU report him coming back?
Haha wow. That sucks.
JJJ should be a solid player in the NBA. Best of luck.
I think the real question is which team will play it safe and draft Ben Carter in the 1st round?
Bridges probably told him not to make the same mistake he made.
Con blue chip talent into playing for him.
Not develop them
Not play them
Try and sell them on “one more year of development”
claiming he would stay. not sure why they would think that, but here we are
Didn't Ward already declare? Or do you mean he's going to hire an agent?
Weird, they both seem like such pleasant individuals
Easy -- for the same reason they finished in the 75th percentile of the ACT.
That's generous.
He had built up such a reputation as "Mr. March" and "good, blue-collar guy".
Then:
- scandals
- disappointing team performance
- complete lack of player development
- another coach and team in-state stealing the spotlight, and doing all the things he was supposed to do
- players running to NBA like rats jumping off a sinking ship
Tough times in EL, for sure
More like ships leaving a sinking rat.
