I used to smoke 2 1/2 packs a day and I quit. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. But it can be done. I haven't had a cigarette in 27 years.

Try to talk to her into trying an e-cig. Its not perfect but you reduce a ton of chemicals and trade actual smoke for vapor. It's not stinky and they have flavors that taste like tobacco or just about anything. It has worked well for several family members of mine and they are stepping down the nicotine levels trying to eliminate the habit entirely.
FUCK CANCER! My daddy is stage 4 esophogeal. Fuck Cancer indeed!

Stage 4 lung cancer is brutal. Hope the drug keeps working.
and f**k cancer. I myself had stage 1 lymphoma 12 years ago, but stage 1 is no comparison to stage 4.

I know my department is losing 33.33% of a huge grant per year for the next three years. I fear that many are going to feel the crunch.

My brother-in-law just beat Cancer - B Cell Lymphoma! Officially cancer free today! Also, something else worth noting, my current boss was diagnosed 10 years ago with an extremely rare and difficult cancer. He fought the tremendous odds against him and won! I like to share and hear other success stories when possible. I think positivity goes a long way...I'll say it...Fuck Cancer! I'll continue to pray for you and your family Cali Wolverine!!! Be strong and Godspeed to that full recovery!

My mother is currently fighting cancer. The chemo treatments are kicking her butt but she keeps getting back up off the mat asking for more in hopes that the treatments are also kicking the cancer's butt. So far there has only been minor progress, but she's still fighting.
Thanks to all the medical researchers out there and those taking on the medical trials. Some day soon I hope that a cure is found.
Go Blue, F Cancer

It's really good to hear that she wasn't in the control group and then, that the experimental drug is actually working! That's awesome. I spend much of my time with my (non-smoker) sibling who's fighting stage IV lung. He's already 3 years past his "expiration" date though things haven't been so great of late. Always good to hear positive stories.
Fuck cancer (and smokers who give other people cancer)!

Go suck a bag of dicks, cancer!
Not sure where you guys ended up for treatment, but my significant other is a nurse at MD Anderson... it's amazing the advancements that seem to be made daily. In 5 years, make sure to send a picture of your healthy wife with "incurable?" written on it to all of the doctors that said they couldn't help.

are with your wife and you (and your family) as she continues to do battle with that awful f'n disease!
I lost my grandpa some 35 years ago and my dad two years ago this past Friday, both to prostate cancer. An Aunt is successfully fighting skin cancer, but she lost one of her sons (a dear first cousin of mine) just 4 weeks ago to throat cancer. And three other 1st cousins (all sisters within the same family) have done battle sucessfully with breast cancer. Someday, somehow, cancer must be beat!
Yes, F*** cancer!!!
December 13th, 2013 at 6:38 PM ^
Yes, thats F*ck Cancer Forever. Major prayers and thought go out to you and your wife. My mother has battled and won, my father-in-law battled and lost. Keep the faith and remember "tough times never last, but tough people do."

Fuck cancer for making my children motherless. Prayers to all who ever have to confront cancer in any way and thanks to all for supporting the fight against cancers of all forms.
December 13th, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
You're doing twice the job the rest of us fathers are. Every child deserves a Mother's love, touch and attention. I hope your children remember all of her love.

Just got the news today that a very well-respected and hugely talented man in my professional community died of cancer yesterday. It was a shock to everyone. It must have been a very aggressive cancer - no one knew he even had it. He was 55 and leaves 4 kids, a wife, and his own ad agency in Chicago. Fuck all cancer.
December 13th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
I don't mean to offend one by using a non-human example but my beloved dog of 13 years died a year ago from an awful, agressive cancer that spread so rapidly that nothing could be done. Worst few weeks of my life and ultimately I made the humane decision to end her suffering once all the treatment options were exhausted. I'd have done anything if there really were a cure available and my heart goes out to anyone whose lost someone or something they love to such an awful disease.
