OT: Detroit Tigers listen to reason; will bring back traditional caps

Per the freep.

I think this was a very prudent decision. The larger "D" was a bit much to handle.

Of course, size doesn't matter as much as how you use it. Hopefully the team will show more fortitude this season.

Now, bring back the traditional "D" for the home jerseys and many fans will stand at attention.

Now if they would only bring back Verlander, Scherzer, Porcello, JD Martinez, Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker,  Aurelio Rodriguez, Mark "The Bird" Fidrych, John Hiller, Mickey Lolich, Al Kaline, Willie Horton, Norm Cash, Bill Freehan, Rocky Colavito, and maybe even Ty Cobb, and administer the fountain of youth to Miggy, they might be contenders again.

While I totally agree about Ausmus, this same core group of players couldn't win it all under Leyland either.

Yeah, I know other players came and went over the contending seasons starting in 2006, and that Dombrowski never got the bullpen right (not absolving Leyland of bullpen blame either, BTW), but the window of opportunity for the Tigers was wide open for a long time and they just couldn't close the deal.

That said, it was a fun time to be a Tigers fan.  I just don't want the current woes to go on and on and on forever like it did once Sparky Anderson's run ended.

I love listening to a good ole baseball cap.  Very relaxing.  Me and Smitty McDinglepuss used to listen to baseball caps every Saturday back when you could get a Hershey for a nickel...............a nickel

Are the sales numbers available anywhere?  I have to assume when they say that they listened to fans that they really mean that they didn’t sell any of the cartoon jumbo logo.

I didn't even know about the larger logo and had to google it to find out what the deal was. I prefer the smaller size, but I've seen much worse than the larger version.

But while I was at the Freep I came across this horrible story about Joe Murphy. I had no idea that this had happened to him. Just awful and tragic.

Good move, Tigers.

Now keep your fingers crossed that we can be like the Whitesox or Phillies in 3 years, if all goes according to Avila’s plan..................
