OT: Blake Griffin Debut vs Grizzlies @ 7:00pm Fox Sports Detroit
Hey look, a topic that's not about MSU.
1.5 games back of 8th place. Clearly this was a trade to win now (and buy SVG some more time). I hope Blake can stay healthy and help the team make a run into one of the lower seeds. I'm skeptical this will work out long term because of his injury history and his salary but I'm pretty excited to tune in tonight.

I didn’t like the trade because it hamstrings their future but if he stays healthy, could prove me wrong. Pistons have been terrible with those late lottery picks and using free agent money. A Drummond/Griffin front court is at least interesting. For all their athletic ability, neither are great defenders. Wonder if there is a coach somewhere SVG could bring in as a defensive specialist to coach them up.
Guard is still a gigantic problem. Reggie is not the guy there. Pistons need a 2 starting guards who can shoot and don’t dominate the shot clock. Drummond and Blake are good passers so this offense should be built with floor spacing and ball movement in mind. We all know when Reggie comes back, he’s going to dribble out the clock, isolate himself and pick and roll...even though he’s average at those things.
