Does anyone else think Belichick wants to break Don Shula’s record for total NFL wins?

Which leads to another question - who was the better coach - Belichick or Shula?

Brady made the man. And here is why.

Based on numerous data points -- what we visually saw from Bellichick and Brady for 2 decades on the sidelines, in interviews; what former players have said; the lack of success of the Bellichick coaching tree, and the demeanor of those guys (e.g. McDaniels) -- it's pretty clear.

Bellichick is kinda horrible to play for. He is no emotion, all business, constantly studying and preparing. And he criticizes everyone. His meetings are dry and grating. Most coddled NFLers won't stand for it.

BUT... Brady did. Brady thrived in that environment--or, at least, permitted it. And when your Player #1 allows Coach to berate and criticize him, then Player #53 will too. Brady was the Alpha on the team that showed everyone how to be part of the Patriot Way, and the team followed.

AND ALSO -- Brady filled in what Bellichick didn't have. The emotional leader, the rah-rah guy. Football requires that. Pete Carroll was that way (at least at USC). Dan Campbell. Antonio Pierce. If your coach won't provide the fire, someone in team leadership has to. And Bellichick had Brady to do that.

WIthout Brady, Bellichick has been a failure. The record speaks to that.

(I don't discount that Bellichick may have made Brady, too--Brady didn't have the mad skills of some other QBs, but he ended up being flawless, which to me speaks to Brady absorbing coaching.)

As a Pats fan, fear is that they will become the NFL version of the Chicago Bulls.  GOAT leaves. ATG coach is forced out.  How's that worked out for the Bulls?  Pats were a middling to loser franchise before Belichick and Brady paired up.

GOAT went to team of Shaq's and his Kobe put them over the top, just didn't know about all the Shaq's.  Kraft is afraid of Belichick doing the same.
