OT: BIGX11 Championship Game = bad football

This game has tons of action, but whoooo boy are these teams unsound and poorly coached. I am amazed at the bad football being played by both sides. Both teams are trying to give the game away. Even if Oklahoma State wins, no way the selection committee looks at this game and sees them as 1 of the top 4 teams in the country.

If UM fans are looking for the guaranteed scenario for UM to make the CFP, no matter what happens vs Iowa, then Baylor barely defeating Ok.State is perfect first step of what will take several specific steps today.

That was hideous football.  Glad we don’t have to watch either of these teams in the cfp.  Except now we may need to watch ND.  Or a 2 loss Bama.

Before today I wanted Oklahoma State to win simply to be an impediment to #6 ND and #7 OSU possibly sneaking up into the top 4.

However, I think the Baylor win helps us if the favorites win tonight.  This is because we'd likely be matched up against Cincinnati in the semis.

I think the playoff committee wanted to keep Cincinnati as the 4 seed, but they will be hard to leap frog ND or any 2 loss team over them.

Oklahoma and Texas future results in the SEC < Penn State & Nebraska results in B1G.

Me thinks Texas opened the entire SEC to their recruiting grounds and Oklahoma is going to get starved out of the Texas leftovers they currently thrive on.

I was kinda hoping to play Oklahoma State if we ended up in the playoffs.  Seeing a Big12 team score 3 points when they play a real defense would be fun as hell

It seems that one of the divine laws of football is that a team that passes the ball on the one-yard line to win a game will not get it.  It happened to the Seahawks in that one Super Bowl, to IU against us in that overtime game a few years back, and now OKSU on 3rd and goal today.   If you can't get that one yard by plunging forward, you're not going to win.

The whole "Power 5" thing needs to be thrown right out the window. There is currently nothing about the ACC, Big 12, or Pac 12 that makes their champion inherently more worthy of a playoff spot than some other conferences out there.
