OT: Biggest Jackass in pro sports
While watching the NHL Playoffs I can’t help but think Brad Marchand is a huge Jackass. Game to game his antics are pretty ridiculous. In game 1 against CBJ he stepped on a guys stick to break it during a face off, this is small compared to his constant shit talking and the cool time he licked a dudes face. This made me think about others who have earned Jackass status over the years. Rick Fox of the Lakers has to be up there. I remember him nut checking guys and sticking his fingers in places they don’t belong just to annoy people. Robin Ventura of the Chicago White Sox could be on this list as well. Who would you add and why?

Spartans:
- Draymond Green
- Connor Cook
- Matt McQuaid
Non-Spartans:
- Bryce Harper
- Steve Smith (before he retired)
- Antonio Brown, apparently
Have to contest Steve Smith. Dude was a pure warrior on the field and he could talk shit at King Kong. He could play for my team anytime.
He's such a bitch. Talked all that shit, but never won anything, fought his teammates, got kicked out of preseason games, demanded trades which put him in worse situations, announced retirement before the season then un-retired during the year.
I'm all about talking on the field, but there's a line where trash talking goes from beneficial and strategic to overly aggressive and detrimental. If you cross the line so far to the point that it gets physical you really hurt your team and become a distraction, and this is really where Steve Smith lived. He's the classic example of the guy that isn't mentally put together well enough to be good at talking shit because he can't control himself.
I absolutely hated him in the league - glad that the Pats got to whoop his ass a few times and keep him from reaching the mountain top.
I thought OSU was your biggest rival? Interesting.
They are. They also produce more respectable human beings. Fewer inbred, rape apologists, better school, etc.
Dunno. Chris Carter is kind of a douche. Joey Galloway is annoying as hell as an announcer but wasn't so bad on the field.
Joey Galloway is a horrible TV analyst, but one bad TV analyst does not a fanbase a full troglodytes make.
I think most Michigan fans would sum up our feelings towards the two rivals by saying that OSU is the chief rival, and we hate them more than MSU, but that we also respect them more than we respect MSU. It's a different hate.
Agreed. The only caveat I would have is that for those of us living in MI, we are in very close proximity to neighbors, co-workers, family (unfortunately), and friends (potentially) w/ Sparty connections which makes occasional losses in Football and Basketball somewhat more annoying than losses to OSU.
Also, I would say that OSU fans win w/ a tad bit more dignity by and large than Sparty's who are among the most graceless fanbase in college sports.
Plural of sparty: “Sparty’s”
OSU used to produce douches regularly. Art Schlister, Cris Carter, Terry Glenn, David Boston, Andy Katzenmoyer, Steve Bellasari, Maurice Clarett, Robert Reynolds, Terrelle Pryor, Carlos Hyde. I feel like they've calmed down in the douche department lately relative to MSU.
Your profile picture and use of the word inbred are a curious combination.
Interested in what McQuaid has done. Obviously he looks like a 6 year old trying to play basketball, but besides being a white shooter, he hasn't really said or done anything that I thought was douchey. Ward tripped Moe and will always be a bitch, Izzo is an enabler, and there are plenty of Spartans in the past that are jackasses, but I thought their players this year were pretty respectable.
He's the cheapest flopper and tries to create contact on every single three he shoots. He just plays an insanely cheap brand of basketball in addition to looking like his parents were siblings who were raised in the giant floating trash continent in the Pacific.
MgoBlog: where we consistently just make shit up.
You’re basing all of this on one play involving Jordan Poole who is one of the worst defenders to ever play basketball.
McQuaid’s neckbeard is offensive to all.
Apparently, he’s trying to grow a chin.

Manny Machado is a piece of human garbage who deliberately tries to injure other players (and has succeeded before). I don't know how he doesn't get knocked out or have his head thrown at on a regular basis.

Not sure if it counts, but Dantonio is a tremendous piece of shit
I'd also throw Robert Kraft in the mix for helping a place that traffics sex slaves
I'll help you out. MD and RK are not professional athletes.
Police ruled there was no trafficking taking place at the spa.

Kendrick Perkins was always trash.
Marchand is up there.

Ray Lewis. Helped kill a couple guys and expressed 0 remorse about it.

Can't get my head around Vick killed some dogs and was booted from the league for a couple years. Lewis helped kill some humans and didn't miss a game. ???
While we're at it, Terrelle Pryor.

It's important to distinguish The Ohio state university from Ohio state university.

The list cannot be complete without Nick Ward on it.
Your post isn't complete because you didn't list a professional athlete.
Nor did you. Pretty stupid of you. Fucking spartoons...

Haha - after Cobb, one of the original bad boys
Cobb has actually been somewhat redeemed by recent academic research. His reputation was ruined by a sports writer (name escapes me) w/ a grudge years after he retired. Also had a long family history of abolitionists.

Randy Johnson

Are you a member of the Audubon Society?
Haaa! By that logic, I have to say Dave Winfield. Coldly murdered that seagull during a game.
Not at all. Him hitting the bird was a one in a bazillion thing.
On the field, Johnson was dominating. Off the field, one of the biggest dickheads you'd ever meet.
But hey, he got paid to throw strikes.

Joel Embiid, Sergio Garcia, Aaron Rodgers, and Antonio Brown are all pieces of shit. OP said professional sports so not sure why a bunch of people are listing Sharties but I respect it.
All of the 76ers are so obnoxious. They talk shit endlessly despite the fact that they've never won anything and are all just a result of tanking season after season in order to get high draft picks. They're all entitled number one overall picks who don't realize that they're not even a top five basketball team. Say what you want about Golden State and the way they operate, but at least they didn't throw away season after season to try to get the number one pick every year, and oh yeah, at least they can actually win something.
I agree.

I like Marchand. it’s hockey not hopscotch. little edge is ok in my book. might be different if trying to seriously hurt someone. Suh kicked a guy in the beans and stepped on a guys face while a lion just saying.
I can name you 20 separate times without exaggeration, that he’s clearly tried to intentionally injure someone
Hyperbole...nice

Hines Ward. Total cheap shot artist and deserved a thorough ass beating.
God damn I don’t think there is a single pro athlete regardless of sport I hate more than Hines Ward. The worst part was despite how dirty of a player he was the commentary was always in his favor for being a Gritty McGrittenstein. Such a smug jackass.

Every time I see Colin Cowherd I'm amazed the guy has a job, and doesn't get the crap kicked out of him daily.
April 28th, 2019 at 11:58 AM ^
Colin is actually one of the best out there. Yes, he can be a little overwhelming, but he is usually very realistic. Not fanboy, not blowhard, just a normal dude talking about sports. He's definitely my favorite.
