show is in a precarious position right now.  Negan threw it a life line and made it engaging for periods again, now the problem is that the outlandishness of his evil has rendered the zombie peril inane and unthreatening by contrast.  I know why they played the Negan hand the way that the did because the quality of the show had been declining for some time and they needed a spark, but I don't know if they are going to have a show to return to after his arc runs its useful course.  The most recent episode was a very, very bad sign for the long term future of the show.

I watch it for shits and giggles now.  I had missed most of this season, but caught the ep where Rick and gang meet the Trash people, and my God it was bad. But I was entertained in a watching a trainwreck kind of way.

It's really well done, particularly how the competing ideologies are subtly inserted. The other currently in season programs set on record are Homeland and Billions.

Could not stop watching. Brilliant series. Looking forward to its return. Although Winona got a little grating. Other than that, Better Call Saul, Fargo, Louie and the one with the boobage. Hardhome (season 5, ep 8) was the best episode the history of the medium. Also, may have to just watch Breaking Bad all over again. If there is any soul out there who has not gone through that... come on, man.

Legion airing on FX right now has been really strong so far. Also praying that Westworld S2 isn't anything like True Detective's second season..

Without spoiling season 2 seems like it has to be pretty different than 1. I hope it doesn't become overly action oriented. Its not a brainy show, but I like a little something even though its not the point.

Season 2: Exact same plot with new characters set in Samurai World.

I agree with you. It seems like it has to be at least somewhat more action- and direct conflict-driven, but hoping they zoom out on the broader world a bit more to keep it layered (or accomplish that in another way).

It's a very good show.  The wife loves it.  It is very emotional and a tear jerker.  I would call it emotionally deep, but it's not a show that makes me think like a Westworld.  I wouldn't recommend it, because if I was single, I would never watch this show in a million years.

Its been a while, IMO, since a great show was on TV. Breaking Bad and Mad Men were so good and nothing has come close to matching their quality. Before that take your pick from anything from HBO.

I like GOT but IMO not a great show. Westworld is probably the most interesting show since Breaking Bad but would like to see a second season before calling it a great show.

I'd like to see a third season of True Detective even though #2 was truly awful.

Fargo since it hasn't been mentioned yet. Check out the new season 3 promo. Ewan Macgregor is barely recognizable. But also Sunny, Silicon Valley, Westworld, GoT, Rick and Morty, and Family Guy. Need to start/finish Ray Donavan, Taboo, Legion and Preacher.

Other than Michigan football, I don't think I'd get along with about 90% of the posters here. I disagree on every tv and movie recommendation found here. It must be me... I'll see myself out.
