OT: the best show on television...
As the downvotes for the pro-Maddow comments will attest, there is no "/no politics" on this board when mentioning ANYTHING which has a non-unanimous opinion.
I LOVE, you LOVE, we ALL LOVE Michigan, but don't get started on any pro-RR or pro-Hoke thread, or pro-Rick Snider for that sake. If there's not unanimity There WIll Be Blood.
In Berkeley the other night the police just let a pro-Trump rally turn into mass level street violence, with paramedics standing by to patch up the combatants and send them back into the fray. They weren't even gonna try to get in the middle. Only property destruction merited arrest. That's what we've become as a society - brooking no disagreement, interested in no reasonable debate.
We in the Bay Area attribute conservative views to racism, facism, extremism, malicious intent, or more likely just plain outright stupidity bordering on the criminal.
I take it in other areas, the exact same views are held of liberals?
It's the interwebs making people so Damn intolerant, I say...
I have always loved "Breaking Bad" & "House of Cards", but if you have "Showtime" I highly recommend "Billions". It's 3 episodes into the second season and very addicting and binge worthy.
I may have to start watching this when I hear Phil Helmuth is in an episode. I am a fan of the Poker Brat
Probably my favorite show on Television right now.
...Has so jumped the shark.
Dar is a caricature of himself at this point.
The pivot to a false flag/inside job attack is just...ugh. Don't get me started on the My So Called Life faces Carrie makes every time she has an emotion.
I'm not wild about this season's plot - but it still makes for better TV than season 4 which was bad. Season 5 was better, but I don't think the show is ever going to be able to recapture the magic of Seasons 1 and 2. Then again, I don't think anything on the show will ever be as bad as Dana Brody in Season 3.
I agree the Dar/FF thing is really pushing it, even knowing that the US has done some things like that in the past (note: I'm talking during the Cold War, not 9/11, etc.)
I mainly watch for the characters I'm still invested in at this point (Quinn, Saul). It's not what it once was, but it's still enjoyable.
End of 3 and most of 4 were pretty bad - I agree I almost stopped watching at the end of 4, but decided to give Season 5 a chance. I think it's better - but still not where 1 & 2 - partly because 1 and 2 were so good it's hard to get back to that level.
In some ways, although not fully comparable, it feels like it's followed a similar course to Lost - which started off so good, then tailed off, then came back and finished out okay.
But I admit, I'm a sucker for the plotting, scheming, etc. of the intelligence agencies, so when the show got back to that more it sucks me back in.
Westworld is the best show i've seen in years. I almost wish they'd just end it after this first season and not make any more. I'm almost certain I'm going to be disappointed with where they go from here.
Scrolled through the comments and did not see Son of Zorn mentioned. Seems like it should be stupid but it's very funny!
Anyone watch / watching The Young Pope? I'm almost done and will finish. Its not bad and Mcgregor is pretty great in it, but I'm never quite sure why I'm watching it.
If you've come this far you'll be happy that you finished it.
I was blown away by the vision of the director moreso than the plot or uneven, if often great, dialogue. A++ on the kangaroo.
I agree with your take, I thought the direction and visual flair was amazing, but the show was total shit. It was like a diamond encrusted pice of shit.
I'm loving the hell out of Baskets.
Patriot is a flippin' hoot. Great casting, writing, and production values. Give it a shot.
Bosch, on Amazon, should start up again soon. It was one of the better shows last season. Also, if you want to binge watch something over a weekend, The Night Of was fantastic.
Currently Live Shows: Billions, Taboo, Black Sails, Legion, Homeland (to a lesser extent).
On hiatus/off season: Westworld, Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul, Silicon Valley, House of Cards,
Still have to find to check out: Big Little Lies, Crashing
Shows I'm looking forward to testing out/seeing: American Gods, The Wizard of Lies, Twin Peaks, War Machine, Okja (not a show, but had to list it!),
How is Taboo? Heard good things and the story sounds interesting.
Good - I'm still a few episodes behind (too many shows and not enough time), but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
Setting and acting are good, intrigue is good so far, etc. I like history a lot, so the interplay with realistics & semi-realistic events is really enjoyable (as long as you're willing to stomach a decent amount of fiction on them too).
Sometimes the show is dark (lighting-wise) and hard to understand though with accents. Not a big deal for me, but I know some people have complained about that.
I haven't seen Sneaky Pete mentioned yet; it was very good but nothing can compare to Fargo and Better Call Saul.
Until Better Call Saul returns next month.
but show I really like The Middle.
If you've not yet checked out Live PD, you're missing out. Friday and Saturday nights at 9:00pm on A&E. Oustanding television.
Breaking Bad.. that is all
that's not a current show , which was asked in the OP;)
GoT reigns.
Non-drama:
Abstract (Netflix - profiles of renowned designers of different disciplines, e.g. Bjarke Ingels, architecture). Very well done.
Wicked Tuna
As a guy with two children under the age of 19 months at home, I miss the days of being able to break down television shows. lol

Hello guys! I think this is really important to pay attention to the TV you use for watching. Personally, I need HelpToChoose by Alex Robson when it comes to av receivers. I am not very good at it but I would like to watch high quality tv shows. I think this is a natural wish
