OT: 2018 OT Jalen Goss commits to Florida State
Valdosta (GA) Lowndes offensive tackle Jalen Goss committed to Florida State. To Greg Frey. Who used to be Michigan's OT/TE coach. So it's probably fair to say that Michigan had a pretty good shot at Goss if an offer from FSU/Frey a week ago turned into a commitment already.
This is most notable because it takes another OT off the board. For Michigan right now, it's basically Jarrett Patterson or Nick Petit-Frere in the 2018 class, unless they send out more offers.

It definitely makes sense that Goss went to FSU with proximity, familiarity with his OL coach, etc. but Goss was just offered by FSU 5 days ago and was not a take at Michigan at the moment. We would've had a very good chance if we made him a priority.

He didn't have an FSU offer until we wouldn't take him and his Michigan recruiter went to FSU. His higher-rated teammate is currently deciding between us and GT, with Michigan the presumed leader if he wants to play RB. If we wanted Goss we would've had him already.

Great meeting Jim Harbaugh, coach Drevno, and Coach Moore to talk about my offer to play at Michigan! Great group of coaches, and more importantly great men. pic.twitter.com/rxZdkZ6MN4
